Re: Starting issues after piggyback ECU removal
Wondering if you have stock injectors. Likely not. Silvertop injectors oem are like a fax machine / 90's PC yellowed plastic beige.. I've had issues w fuel pump/relay just not being happy with a low battery on my s13.. it would crank slowly, but couldn't keep the fuel pump going reliably. After char...

Re: Front brake calliper slider pin cap
old rubber brake lines can also cause mush. Now that i think about it, ive never adjusted a brake pedal push rod. That's probably the method with the booster push rod measurement tool. That would definitely add a ton of pedal travel if wrong. As above, slider cover has no impact on pedal travel or f...

I think location is also a massive factor. Trying to get this work done in San Francisco might be $5-7k while far outside the city could be $2-4k

Re: replaced master/slave cylinders, clutch worse
It's likely a clutch hydraulic bleeding issue. Confirm the slave moves as the clutch pedal travels, toss a cell phone down there recording and call out where you are in the pedal travel. If you're like 50% of the pedal traveled and the slave hasn't moved yet, it needs to be bled (or there is a leak ...

Re: fuel rail and injector options and fabricator suggestions
nvm, i found some fuel rail extrusions, do you have any recomendations for size? If you aren't already running an AFPR to match the fitting size from, just plan on AN -6. Way more than enough, and common sizing for AEM AFPR. Mcmaster for raw materials, Earl's fittings. If you need aluminum or stain...

Re: fuel rail and injector options and fabricator suggestions
Measure the inner diameter of where the injector seats to figure out which top feed injector size you need. Measure the distance between injector port centers. Now you roughly know what you need. Before buying injectors, check out the sweet youtube videos on building a custom fuel rail. There is dif...

Super interesting, thanks Jondee86, Reading more about batch vs sequential injector firing since I never have seen a wiring harness like this... just sharing info: 20v BT&ST 4A-GE has individual wiring for each fuel injector to the ECU. (Interestingly wire gauge is different per injector if I re...

Re: blue smoke
Bummer... Valve stem seals tend to cause blue smoke especially after downshifts off throttle (high vacuum in the head). It will then smoke once you get back on throttle. Usually a block should be machined to fit the pistons to get the right wall clearances, and the rings should be gapped to account ...

In general, things I've observed w other older cars and may help: Set engine to correct RPM idle & in diagnostics mode if applicable.. dont bother adjusting timing with a timing light if you cant get it to idle low/high/consistent enough. Chase vacuum leaks, idle air control valves, bad throttle...

I have the Reinhard stainless. It is shockingly loud with testpipes. Probably too loud for 80% of people for street driving. And i haven't taken the silencers out of the tips yet.. Also the silencers rusted a bit with the car outside for a month, and the exhaust hangs a bit too low. My ride height i...

Not an expert, haven't seen a 20v AC compressor either - have you run dye through the system and identified the leak to be coming from the pulley area of the pump? There may be an o-ring that is replaceable between the pump and a manifold bolted to the pump. Sometimes its custom and hard to find rep...
