Re: OEM Wheels Wanted
Not sure if you're still looking for these, but I bought an AE86 snowflake from ebay seller "Santaanawheel". It was refinished and in great shape. I think it was $100 shipped. They probably have some more available and may have the other wheels you want.

E-Brake Console for TE72 and A/C Pulley for TE21
Hello everyone. Thanks for looking. As the title says, I'm looking for the emergency brake console for a TE72. The type that is stand alone - not connecting to the shifter console. Color doesn't matter - I'll just paint it, but if it's black, it will save me the trouble. The bottom version in this p...

WTB Engine to Trans Cover Plate
Hey guys. I'm looking for the cover plate at the back of the engine that goes between the engine and transmission. Just to be clear, I need it for a manual trans AE86 - GTS and SR5 are the same. I'm located in Cincinnati, so I'll need it shipped or I can meet up if you're close. I've got PayPal. You...

Re: Custom Clutch Line for SR5 to GTS Swaps
+1 on the Cunifer (also called NiCopp) lines - super easy to bend and flare. If you want to go with a generic braided hose, you could just get adapter fittings and use a pre-made hose. The clutch should be 10mm x 1.0 inverted flare on both ends (it's the same as the brake lines). A -3AN hose will wo...

Re: Rwd 16v rear coolant neck. Repair suggestions. (Pics)
I know I'm late to the party here, but in the past, I have used a tube flaring tool to make a "swage" in the end of tubes like that. It works pretty well if you have a flaring tool large enough. I use my inverted flaring tool and stop after the first step - it looks like a bubble flare, wh...

Re: Sr5 partout
Is the car manual transmission? If it is, do you have the cover plate that goes between the engine and transmission?
Also, it may be helpful to list your location in case anyone is close to you. And the year also - some parts are different between zenki and kouki.
Thanks,
Chris

Is the intake manifold rwd/ae86? Does it include the throttle body? If so, I'm interested.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Sr5 partout/ garage cleanout!
I'm interested in the stock (non-coilover) front struts if you still have them. I'd prefer the pair with the brakes also (12th picture), but if they are gone, I'd be interested in the bare casings (11th). Actually, now that I think about it, I'll take both if you still have them. You don't have any ...

If you're not worried about a standalone and just want to get rid of the distributor, look at these threads: http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?cmd=print&id=18900 http://www.86garage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10869 I can't personally speak to the effectiveness of these techniques, but it seem...

Re: Help with 20v Swap Stand alone Recommenation
foonix is right. It's a Nippondenso crank angle sensor. Here's a link with some more info: http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms3/trigger-wheel.html . It's a pretty common sensor arrangement - AEM should handle it just fine.

Re: Window wash button not working
Before taking the dash apart to check the switch, I would use a multimeter to check for voltage at the pump when you push the button. That way you could rule out electrical problems altogether. If there's no voltage, then start digging... I've had the hoses and even squirters themselves get crusty a...

Re: 8.8 conversion info
I'm using a Mustang rear end. It's still a lot wider than the factory rear, so shortening would be a good idea. While you have the axles at the machine shop, you may also want to consider having the stud pattern re-machined. The Ford pattern is 4x4.25, which is kind of hard to find wheels for. It's ...

Re: air pockets in radiator.
How old is your radiator cap? My MR-2 did the same thing when the cap went bad. I tried to bleed the cooling system 3 times to no avail. Wait for the car to start overheating, then pull over and listen to the engine. If you can hear coolant boiling, your radiator cap isn't holding enough pressure.

Re: Reputable JDM Engine Importer
Since you're in Cleveland, I'll recommend Zerolift Autolab in Cincinnati, if you're willing to drive a little. I was up there not too long ago and they had several 20Vs in stock. They also had a couple BEAMS 3S/6spds in stock. All of them are compression checked and guaranteed to run. They have pret...

Re: proefi 128
About the firmware - I've gotten different answers from different sources. Take a look for yourself - download the tuning software - it's free on the ProEFI website and look through it - there is nowhere to set up the crank trigger pattern (only the reference), so it must be loaded into the firmware...

Re: proefi 128
I suppose it really depends on how precise you need your spark timing to be, and ultimately how much power you want to make. I'm super picky (and so is the guy tuning the car) so we decided it's worth the extra effort. For most street applications, the factory setup is just fine. But honestly, if yo...

Re: 4age FWD to RWD
The distributor should work fine - I don't think you'll need to change that. The intake manifold is different, but since they are both big port, the AE86 one should bolt right up to the engine. Swap the AE86 timing cover over too - that way you won't have the hole for the engine mount in it. And mak...

Re: proefi 128
Not running it yet, but getting ready to order it once I get the specifics worked out. They make a 128 system for the MR-2, which runs the same distributor cam signal as the 20v, so that system should run the engine just fine. The only thing that concerns me is that a cam driven crank signal can lea...

Re: Squeaking Noise when Running
Did you replace the timing belt tensioner? The bearing in it can squeak when it goes bad. I'd also take a look at all of the other belts - make sure they are in good condition and tensioned properly. You could also try some belt dressing. It could also be the tensioner pulley for the power steering ...

My New Car - 73 Corolla 2dr Sedan TE21
Hey guys. I just thought I'd throw up some pics of my new (to me) car. I picked it up just before Christmas and I've been doing little things here and there to it. It's got 40,000 original miles and it runs like a champ (after I re-adjusted the carb for the cold weather). I put my old factory wheels...

Re: w5x swap clutch question
Sounds the first generation of Rhett's (Toycoolrolla) bellhousings - that's what I've got. He put the slave on the driver side in the first design and later moved it to the passenger side. As far as a slave cylinder, you can run the stock AE86 one, but because it is made to sit on the pass side, whe...

Re: How to remove USDM front and rear bumpers
The front bumper is held on by two bolts (either 17 or 19mm head) just inside of and below the turn signals. There are also four other bolts going through the frame rails behind the bumper and below the headlights. Wind the headlights up and remove the plastic panel underneath. The bolts are under t...
