Tips on Oil Restrictors
Hey Guys, I have a moderately high performance engine we are working on that seems to not have any of the 16V oiling issues handled. For a mostly street driven car with an occasional track day on a Hankook RS4 or similar tire, would just installing an oil restrictor to the head be enough? Is anyone ...

Hey Jondee,
Yes I've heard about how strict NZ road safety police can be. For NZ, would welding on the OEM spindles onto the coilover with an adapter be acceptable in their eyes? Just wondering as I'm sure we will be asked about this in the future!

Also - if anyone has some HTS they'd like to see a dyno chart of, we can likely schedule some time on the shock dyno as well to see what's really going on! Same thing applies to other shocks available for the AE86 or even MR2 or any other interesting sports cars.

Re: New Annex Coilovers or...Old faithful TRD Blues etc..
Hey Guys, We're really loving the discussion you guys have drummed up here! I think it's fantastic to see the AE86 market shift a bit from singular drift and track performance at the expense of all else to moving towards car setups that favor track performance, with enough bump compliance for daily ...

Re: AE86 Best Suspension Setup
Hey guys, just want to chime in on the last point about the progressive setup for the front and rear: As a suspension nerd I also was considering a progressive setup for my own car with a lower rate helper spring that would soak up the smaller bumps before engaging a stiffer front rate for roll stif...

Re: Bump steer after aw11 manual rack conversion
I strongly urge people to find a true manual rack because of the bump steer we noticed with the AW11 racks when properly centering the rack. Your choices with the AW11 rack seem to be 1. Have too much angle turning left 2. Having equal steering angle but worse bump steer on oneside than the other. A...

The radial bearings are highly recommended on AE86 applications. We noticed the steering effort and feedback is improved with the radial bearings as well.

Re: Fortune Auto Coilovers Review 2017
8/6 can definitely work well if you live in an area with very smooth roads, or you spend most of your time at the track. Since FA was starting off in the Corolla application, they stuck with what was most popular. This doesn't have to just be a thread about FA though. I'd be happy to share my insigh...

I think that's part of the fun with Corollas though... that live axle will always be a handful and that's what makes these such driver's cars =D

Just want to add that I'm glad to hear there are folks that are appreciating rubber / poly bushings on their AE86's. There's a time and place for heims but they can put a lot of wear and tear on these cars, not to mention create a lot of NVH. We generally will swap out heims for rubber bushes on car...

Hi Dan, would you mind letting me know what intake hose and airbox that is? I'm after something that doesn't look modified as well for my 16V street car. I was looking at JDM MAP intakes but they seem to be hard to find here.

Re: 4AGE 20V Adjustable cam timing with VVT
I have made my VVT pulley adjustable by slotting the hole in the VVT gear and flattening the dowel pin on one side. This gave me about 7 cam degrees to play with. The other issue is VVT adjustment is too much when using larger cams, would be neat to have a solution that limited total travel to about...

Hey guys, based on the fuel table you can see it is running out of breath way sooner than it should. With ma 7A 20V with Kelford 194-B's, large header, and some porting I'm adding the most fuel at the higher RPM range.

FYI best way to contact is via...

BEAMS has different cylinder spacing. You could use the filter element with a blank backing plate (which we can supply) but we don't provide any finished backing plates for BEAMS yet.
