Re: I think I broke my AE86
what color is the smoke? if it is black or dark it is burning fuel (similar to a diesel) this pribably isnt your issue tho. if it is white it is coolant/water if it is white with a blueish color it is oil. iv never really been able to smell the sweet smell but color is a good indication. also check ...

Re: oem lsd rebuild kit
i rebuilt mine but i was not able to get a hold of spencer to get the rebuild kit. but i did get some #8 washers to space the oem springs to give more pre-load on the diff. I was able to get 3 washers under each spring. it was tight after that. i had a broken lsd that i was able to measure all the c...

Re: Weird Radiator Problem
you need to check the temp switch to see if it is normally closed or normally open. this determines what your relay setup will be. also a better place for the thermo switch is between the thermostat and the radiator. I used an ae82/ae92 oem fan switch on mine. it is built into the thermo housing bef...

Re: RHD Conversion
your best bet would be to get a half cut and swap the firewall and all other parts to your chassis this way you will get the cross member steering rack gas cable brake lines clutch lines dash and under dash ducting (if you use it) and wiring which are the main parts.

Re: oem lsd rebuild kit
bump any opinions on either rebuild kit? even if it is an improvement opinion over stock edit: im going to go with the max grip due to it having stiffer springs then stock. the t3 kit says it has new compression springs which im assuming are oem stiffness while the max grip says it has 60lb more pre...

Re: rear end bearings
thanks i was really wanting to confirm these bearing sizes where the correct size for the rear ends. I would for sure use a well known Bearing like koyo or timken. timken is the house brand at all my local parts stores. oddly enough my local parts store do not show this bearing size to fit my car. i...

Re: rear end bearings
I wouldnt say they are not good bearings im just looking for a cheaper alternative to oem. koyo makes the bearings for toyota and koyo bearings can be had for 15 bux on amazon. if i went to toyota i would be paying 3x as much for the same exact bearing. there are many good bearing makers. you dont h...

oem lsd rebuild kit
I am wondering if anyone has experience with either the max grip or the t3 lsd rebuild kit and if one is preferred over the other. both claim to improve over OEM and to "shim" for a tighter grip. also both come with new springs. is this a 6 one way and half a dozen the other being about th...

Re: Crank resurfacing
Why not get a set of rods for the 42mm crank? I imagine it's more worth keeping the 42mm crank as-is than modifying it. If you're interested, I have a set of 42mm rods with ARP rod bolts I want to get rid of. They will need reconditioning, as the lackwit I bought them from (someone here) didn't shi...

I ask because out of all my parts cranks seem to be the the part that i cant seem to locate. I have both 40mm and 42mm jounal engines that need cranks. Reconditioning the 42mm crank as a 40mm is the closest i can get to a working engine. Thanks Jondee ill have to find a crank specialist in my area a...
