Re: Aukword1's Beams Swapped AE86
So I fixed the coolant leak in the back of the engine and confirmed that the clutch engages and disengages as it should. I am running the AE86 master with the j160 slave and it works fine. the only problem is that there is a little bit of play before the clutch will engage. Just another issue I will...

Re: Aukword1's Beams Swapped AE86
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VcmmfuP0rA Got the idle pretty decent. Left the throttles open at about 3% which seems to be what the engine wants. Still have a few things to sort out. Have a nice coolant leak in the back of the engine that will be fixed today. Also for those of you that noticed, t...

That supercharger whine is awesome. Such a great build man. Sucks to hear that about the NZ community, but it happens with everything that is fun. I think you nailed it by saying that it becomes a part of the entertainment industry.

Re: Aukword1's Beams Swapped AE86
Alright making progress. To answer NOKsk8er's questions, I am running a Toyota Yaris alternator using the SQ engineering slimline alternator swap kit. As for the headers, I posted a pic so you can see below. https://s20.postimg.org/cun63n3yl/20180119_172552.jpg IAT sensor tapped into the Velocity st...

Re: Aukword1's Beams Swapped AE86
So it's been a while since I updated. Basically I decided to go the ITB route and spent way too much money doing so. Bought SQ engineering ITB adapter plate for the 20v AE111 ITB's, SQ engineering 100mm velocity stacks, a generic chinese made vacuum block, a Link G4+ ECU with expansion loom, pipercr...

Of course you can. I'd suggest running a water/methanol injection kit to keep the air cooled during boost and you should be just fine.

ah you had one of these engines before. You should've kept it! Anyhow, I found out that the problem is the o2 sensor so I have to go pull one from the junkyard tomorrow. Should be idling soon, can't wait!

Re: Aukword1's Beams Swapped AE86
Thanks I will try that next time and eventually change out the pics on this thread with better links. So small update, the engine cranks and starts but then immediately dies. Still trying to troubleshoot it but it seems to be most likely a fuel issue. I will try some more things later this week to s...

I don't think the older S gen motors will work with the mounts. The blocks are a bit different. I know they share a few parts between them but you can just get this instead https://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-Toyota-Altezza-3SGE-TURBO-RS200-IS300-Beams-Dual-VVTI-ENGINE-6spd-Mt-ECU/253322496591?epid=6552763...

Just a side note, you can buy just the aw11 distributor cap from autozone for like $10 and use it on your stock 4age distributor.

looking great man! I'm jealous of those rear brakes lol I can't commit to that brake kit yet until I figure out what rear axle I'm going to go with. Also, You can adjust the e-brake cable from the e-brake itself. It might give you enough slack to link it. You can always ask Gabe or one of the guys a...

Glad you are happy with the project thus far. It is looking great btw. I'd be interested to see what the dyno numbers are with a smaller SC pulley. Also, you can probably run a larger crank pulley to add even more boost like the 4agze guys do. Anyhow good luck with it all!

It's a folded sheet steel bracket and the holes will have been punched out. That's why you get a bit of a taper on th holes and the brackets can be less than perfect. Just file the holes out a fraction to get rid of the lip and slide that tube in there :-D Cheers... jondee86 That's basically what I...

Re: Aukword1's Beams Swapped AE86
The JSP mount kit does come with two options, one in a forward mounting position and one that mounts the engine towards the rear more. I went with the rear mounting position. In the rear mounting position with the sunframe spacers you do not need to modify the oil pan or the sway bar at all. Current...

Let me check when I get home, I'm looking at the Aisin CMC's and i'm thinking maybe it only had one stud possibly lol. I changed it out like 6 years ago so I don't really remember well. I will check in a few hours though.

That is odd, I never came across that issue. Do you have any slack in the spring when you jack up the front end? You should just be able to screw the base when the spring sits up or down to adjust the height. There is a set screw that holds it in place but it seems like your issue might be the sprin...
