Unbolt the exhaust manifold and see if it's wet inside. Bad valve stem seal is possible.

It's a 7mm ball bearing. I bought a switch missing that a few years ago and had to source a replacement.

Re: Rose joints / Bushed upgraded suspension
Rear suspension binds in articulation (car lean/tilt) if OEM length 4 links and fully rose-jointed. IF you go equal length, then by all means go fully jointed. I've run quality joints for a number of years and haven't made it to the point of needing to replace them. I also live in CA, so your road/c...

Re: New Annex Coilovers or...Old faithful TRD Blues etc..
Rates are good, especially for a stripped hatch that is still street driven. I like how TRD blues felt but the car I drove was also on TRD bushings. Controlled, smooth but still firm enough. HTS are known to be 'harsh' on the street IIRC. Koni's are good and way more comfortable than most if you pla...

DIY: a quick outline on why and how to set pinion angle.
Setting pinion angle is about eliminating driveline vibration & ensuring u-joint longevity. In a perfect world the 'best' place is to have the pinion angle parallel to the engine/transmission angle. For example, if the engine/transmission are 4 deg nose up, the pinion should be 4 deg nose up. Bu...

Re: Questions about W58 transmission (W58 swap owners please answer!)
Gearing spacing is better 1-4, 5th is a taller overdrive. It's way stronger for 20lbs more weight and best of all it shifts much better.

Re: Quick question about manual rack conv.
A quick google will get you a copy of the fsm which has the specs. When I first did it I did not have the tools to setup the rack to spec and went by feel (not normally recommended), but I'm fairly mechanically inclined and have had no issues. Since that write up I've bought & made the tools to ...

Re: Another ae86/fc3/mini brake upgrade question.
If your car runs, disconnect the booster vacuum line and go for a drive. It's preference. I run rx7/mini setup with stock booster, master with SS lines and it doesn't bother me at all.

Re: front whiteline sway bar issue
Any wheels can (8.5+ especially) run into interference/angle issues. Longer control arms, different wheels, ncrcas or even wheel spacers can help but may cause fender/camber issues depending on your setup. I pretty much rub tension rod & whiteline.

Re: HELP! Axle bearings wont go all the way in!
The bearings should press on until they are flush with the step down on the axle flange end. 1/2" out means it sits wrong somehow.
Grab the axle and wiggle it around, you may have gotten through the carrier bearing adjuster but not into the splines of the carrier/lsd.

Re: supra fuel pump in ae86
Way overkill for a 20v. You'll want to upgrade wiring as the supra pump needs more amperage and the OEM wiring is barely sufficient for the MK4 supra pump. The wires will get warm or almost hot to the touch. I would go mk3 or sw20 mr2 as it should be drop in IIRC, and more than enough.

Re: manual steering rack question
If you drift the car put the manual in. It has more 'turns' as it has more travel, which means more angle.
But depowered vs manual rack, the manual will be easier to turn. But not by much iirc.
