Fuel Pump Power Question - GTS Zenki
Morning all! I'm nearing completion on my swap, but I'm stumped on my fuel pump wiring. Two things to keep in mind: (1) I have a custom MSI pump for my setup on a stock SR5 tank (2), my rear harness is also a stock SR5 harness. I'd like to have the power spliced in from the Driver's side fuse panel,...

Re: Kitsunami's 86 SR5 to GTS swap
Update! Got the car to fire yesterday. It only ran for a few seconds before dying. Seems I need to adjust my timing, BUT IT RAN! I'm also not 100% confident in where I spliced my Fuel Pump wiring, so I gotta look at some options for that. Gonna look into the COR behind the glove box and see if that'...

More complications. but honestly, I'm so resolved by now that nothing's stopping this train. On Wednesday (9/5) I purchased the last items on my list needed to start up the engine for the first time. You can imagine my excitement... The first thing I do getting home from work is add oil to the engin...

So sick dude!! You're almost there!! Side note, can you clarify a bit on the drive belt problem? Was it too short even with the alternator as short as it will go? Were you using an OEM Toyota belt or aftermarket? I know when I replaced my belt(s) last year, I had to make several trips to the parts ...

Re: Kitsunami's 86 SR5 to GTS swap
Another bout of financial obligations mixed with incredible frustration on this project forced me to take a step back before I set the whole thing on fire. Not to mention it's been ~105 degrees since July with large fires causing **** air quality in the North Valley, which doesn't make for pleasant ...

Auh man, now I want to go back.
Good luck with your search!

Looks good dude, you're almost there :). Just to let you know, it's been proven that silicone hoses seep coolant through small pores over time, so you'll want to keep an eye on the level more frequent than rubber hoses. This was great to read. Keep it up and I'm excited to see it running. Looks gre...

Toyota OEM 4AGE piston rings
Hey all, I have a set of Toyota genuine OEM standard size piston rings (PN 13011-16170) for the 4AGE 16V (I don't know for sure, but I think the 20V and 4AC can also use these) I bought 'em before I knew I needed to bore my block, so I had to use oversize, and no longer need these. Brand new. $80 sh...

Custom Clutch Line for SR5 to GTS Swaps
Hey all, Wondering if anyone has any advice for getting a line from my clutch master to clutch slave on my GTSR5 swap. I'm currently wiring up an electric fan and have opted to use the two-relay system in conjunction with the AE92 coolant neck with the sensor so I don't have to think about turning on and off the fan manually. But I need a little clarification. I've wired up my setup using this diagram: http://i66.ti...

My metal tee came in the mail, so I hacked off the end of the stock outlet neck and added the tee (Tee measurements, as seen in the photo above are 5/8' x 5/16' x 5/8' and fit perfectly to the stock assemblies): http://i68.tinypic.com/2yzlg8k.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/mll7o0.jpg http://i67.tinypic....

Eh... Hose clamps for pressurized fuel line? I'm betting I'll be okay. I'm basing this assumption on this post: http://www.club4ag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20979 And all the hose line I used is EFI pressure rated. Also, because I didn't cut any of the hardline, all the flared end fittings...

Re: Kitsunami's 86 SR5 to GTS swap
Decided now would be a good a time as any to clean up the carpet in the Eight Six. Removed both pieces and threw 'em into the washer. I found some rust on the bare floor on the drivers side so I spent some time sanding that out and applied a couple layers of primer. Also the factory underlayment was...

Re: Kitsunami's 86 SR5 to GTS swap
***Update*** As stated in a previous post, I decided I didn't want to pursue a GTS tank and fuel lines, which means I had the pleasure of installing a custom setup. I went with an MSD 2925 EFI pump. I've read more than a couple guides to installing these to work with the SR5 tank, and most of em cal...

Re: Fuel Line help
For the electrical side you should use a failsafe system as used in all 4AGE powered AE86 cars. This is designed to stop your pump continuing to run after you crash and you are trapped in the wreckage !!! Anything less is at your own risk. The following sketch shows how the GTS factory AFM system w...

Re: Fuel Line help
I've heard of people using the sr5 lines as the return lines though I have heard of people not having any problems using the SR5 fuel lines for supply and return. Just use the two larger lines. Also the GTS pump assembly should drop right into the SR5 tank as the SR5 and GTS tanks are the same exce...

ISO USDM Zenki AE86 (AE88) GTS Harnesses
Good morning C4A, It appears some harnesses I purchased a while back for my swap were incompatible. I didn't know there was a difference between them at the time, so lesson learned :? . My dash harness I'm 95% sure is Zenki and since that was the biggest pain in the bum to swap, I'd rather not do th...
