Re: Windshield washer question usdm ae86
Update: turns out I had a kouki dash harness installed with my zenki engine harness. The front/rear washer motor wires at JB4 we’re swapped. Re-pinned the corresponding plug, and fixed the issue. Figured I would update just in case anyone finds themselves in the same situation.

Windshield washer question usdm ae86
Hoping someone can help. My wipers work, but my washer doesn’t. I disconnected the washer motor to check continuity of the harness to the switch but no luck. Nothing when engaging the switch. I then removed the switch and checked continuity from harness to motor.. no luck. All contacts looked pretty...

Re: Noise when turning
Thanks for the quick reply. The leak was actually strong enough to where I could pinpoint the area pretty easily. I didn't think about using a flame though, I’ll have to remember that one. I forgot to mention earlier that I have a suspicion that some brake fluid could have found its way into the boo...

Re: Noise when turning
Update: While bleeding my brakes the last time, I ended up blowing the seal for the master cylinder :D . I bought a new master, as well as some new front calipers and a different brand of brake pads(that actually fit). After installation the clattering noises from the front wheels went away. I poppe...

Re: Noise when turning
Took out the brake pads. On the inner front right pad, there was uneven wear(only one half of the pad). Inner side of the rotor had slight groove worn in; enough to feel while running fingers across it. Compared the new pad with the old, and the design was slightly different. The new brake pad “tabs...

Re: Noise when turning
I torqued the nut to 21 ft-lbs, backed it off and torqued it to 21 ft-lbs again. While torquing I rotated the wheel.
Grabbed the torque spec from the FSM.

Noise when turning
Whats up, Wondering if anyone has any advice. I just finished replacing front and rear pads and rotors, as well as the front wheel bearings. While I was breaking in the new pads, I would hear a noise when making sharp turns. Sounds like a clatter/ grinding noise, and it is more predominant on the ri...

My buddy has that cap on his 1967 Corona with a 3rc engine. I'm not 100% positive but I believe they were nicknamed "onigiri "oil caps because they resemble rice balls

Re: Interior trim ae86
If someone out there with a coupe has the time and could do me a solid, can you look at the part numbers on your trim. It would be greatly appreciated.
The P/N's on my pieces are 62431-12040 and 62432-12030.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Interior trim ae86
Thanks for the reply AE86Kai
Its interesting, cross referencing with my current pieces, none of the p/n match what is listed. It must be because the "oh ****" handle is on the opposite side for the rhd 86's.
Also i didnt realize until now, but it looks my garnishes are from a ae85 lol.

Front suspension question
whats up, was wondering if some one could help me out with a question regarding spring rates. So in hawaii, if you modify your car you have to get a reconstruction permit in order to pass safety inspections and such. The inspectors do a jounce test to see if you have acceptable suspension travel. Ri...

ahhh. Do I just check for continuity for the speaker outputs?
It's funny, I've been looking for some cassettes all over in my house for the past few days but no luck. I don't think I've ever been so eager to find one.

I found a pinout, which I believe is for memory. You wouldn't happen to know if that needs a separate 12v supply do you?

Thanks for the tip. I was able to power it up successfully.
No sound output yet though. When using the tuner, will I hear static even without an antenna connected?

Any one good with oem radios?
Went to a yard and was able to pick a USDM oem radio/tape player from a 1984 sr5 corolla. Trying to figure out how to wire this sucker up, but from what i can tell the wiring diagram I am using does not seem to be for the right model/year(1986 electrical diagram). The wire colors don't match the dia...

Re: After market hatch question
Thanks for the replies. I've just been thinking about some options. I've contacted several parts dealers, and shipping is a little too outrageous for my blood. I already started cutting the rot from my original hatch, but it's real far gone. I was able to find another spare hatch that was rusty as w...

Re: After market hatch question
thanks for the reply. I've been leaning more towards frp because of cost, but shipping is so crazy out to the islands that I was thinking what the hell spend the extra bucks. We do have a lot of pot holes out here though, so I guess that is something to think about as well. hahaha From your experien...

After market hatch question
My hatch is pretty rusty and beat up, and I was thinking about going aftermarket. For any one who has bought a Seibon CF hatch, do they all come with a pre-drilled hole for the rear windshield wiper? All of the web sites I've been looking at use the same stock photo with an existing hole. On a side ...
