Haha I don't know much so I can't comment intelligently. But I did learn a bunch from that. Carbs are quite interesting and I'd like to learn someday :) I saw a video of SU / motorbike carbs in action and noticed the dampening function done via the oil fill center that you're mentioning. Tire mounti...

Re: Restoring AE86 w/ 4AGE 16v + HKS ITB + Haltech E6X
I'm getting a bit bored waiting for the refinish. I'm thinking about converting to COP for fun. Seems like the JDM plug probably ties the ground together, and then the other two pins are one for Ne (24 tooth), one is for the 4 tooth gear. I suppose I should just connect up the JDM dizzy to a o-scope...

Where is the slider valve? beneath 7? seems like fuel comes up from "4" and perhaps the slider controls the fuel flow.

If you suspect the ignition is off, maybe try put the ECU in diagnostic mode and use a timing lamp?

PS500. Are you using injection pulse? I'm curious how it runs on yours. I cannot find a way to smooth out the throttle response, it's sounds like its out of breathe when I blip the throttles at idle and its very jerky when I press/let go of the pedal quickly while driving. I have an really old Halt...

I haven't checked the manual, but you want your ISCV to drive all the way open while the engine is cranking. Maybe there is a control for this ? Once the engine fires it should then close to whatever setting you have chosen for cold start. There isn't for the closed loop idle control, however in th...

I think I figured out the hunting. I think it's because I set the cold open position too high. I'll have to keep on adjusting it until it's just right. Today I took the car in for an alignment and while I was able to get a lower negative degree camber, the camber plate settings are still polar oppos...

That's an interesting tidbit. Always learning from you :) I've been playing more. Looks like I was wrong with my earlier statements. With the PWM period, and it seems like whether if it's 4ms or 20ms, it would work. I think the reason why it wouldn't work earlier was that I didn't restart the ECU (t...

ISCV update: Finally had time to work on the idle air control valve. I looked up the schematics on some pages and it seems like center wire is +12V and one wire closed the valve, while the other one opens the valve. I then tested it with a 9V battery, putting + in the middle wire. Then tested each s...

Thanks jondee86! Yeah I'm pretty excited for the suspension to not have oddities between the two sides! As for overall suspension planning, I'm thinking about just getting new springs for the car and not deal with the shocks, but I'm unsure. I don't want to live with the 10k/8k spring rate forever. ...

While you continue using distributor ignition you have two unused ignition outputs that can be used as digital outputs. One of these outputs can switch a fan on and off at specific temperatures. I'm a bit frustrated with my throttle linkages. One of the bolts that hold the end fittings in place is stuck and there's no way to grip it properly to adjust the length. I believe they are about ~4" long. I'm trying to make do with the linkage rod by adjusting the other linkage rod to a simila...
