Re: Having trouble with rack set up
i've done the manual rack conversion but still not sure I follow. Did you re-center the rack (here's the important bit) on the car with the spacer included? By T3 spacer I assume you mean their high steering angle spacer? The AW11 rack sits differently than the AE86 PS rack so basically the outer ti...

Axle oil seals
For those that have removed the axle oil seals from the housing - can you please share how this was performed?i purchased an seal puller (2 hooks) but its clear that that won't work - the seals are in there too snug.
Thanks,

thanks brother. I have a lot of build pictures on my Instagram account: akc_lee. I don't post YouTube videos often but posted just that one for fun. I'm reading your post on my phone so apologies if I'm saying something you've checked but I believe you have a faulty light switch. The dash display illumination control is integrated into the head light switch so yes the fact that the dash lights don't turn on could be an indication. not to ask a d...

Re: Need help with coolant temp sensor
what totta said above - if you took the engine out did you burp the coolant/radiator and have the car somewhat angled up on jacks or on drive way to assist with getting the air up and out? air pockets may prevent coolant from properly reaching the temp sensor and hence the ecu may not be getting a c...

you could but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly which other Toyota has the same setup. if I may, you could buy a new one from Cabe Toyota. it's $90 but at least it's instant problem solved and brand new. Sorry i re-read your initial post - what is it exactly you're trying to do si...

Re: is this a gts throttle cable?
The mounting holes should be the same on the firewall for SR5 or GTS - that shouldn't matter. Some GTS' however came with cruise control, so the throttle cable was actually shorter since it went to the cruise control pump and then from there a cable went to the throttle body itself so only the lengt...

Great information and thanks for the feedback guys. The springs I'm using are variable (more dual rate than progressive). The progressive coils are wound tightly together and are located on the the top and bottom. The center portion has evenly spaced coils, which is the linear rate. Moto's email is ...

Very insightful. What I'm planning to do with the car is mild fun - some auto-x, and the occasional HPDE in between. At the moment I went ahead and installed the entire Prothane bushing kit. The only bushings I didn't replace was for the stock tension rods since I'm using T3 rods in place of. For st...

Looking good!
The bracket you posted up top (on the left) - that supports the brake booster vacuum hose to the firewall since the hose needs to go from the booster all the way around to the TVIS.

Haha, I have the same hoist and stand from harbor freight - i know the feeling! The pistons appears to have more than just carbon build-up; looks more like oil... prolly from the headgasket and perhaps oil seeping into the cylinders from the top? Re: notnilc20's 1986 ae86 Hatch build clean-up
Notnilc20, Looks like you're going straight into it - good for you. I've had parts taking up 4 shelves on a rack so i totally can relate to the dizzying sense of it all. Stay organized, tag everything, take pictures, and take notes on a notepad. I had to do all that just to stay sane! As far as the ...
