Nah, those are all good. Guess I'll have to start at the coil and break out the FSM. I've had to trouble shoot one on a 94 OBD1 Protege So I'm sure it's similar.
Anyone got the FSM page handy?

Re: AE88 GTS Will not crank
LOL, thanks notnilc20, I only go by chassis vin no matter how cool people try to sound :P So I think I'm familiar with what you're getting at; you're saying go down all 4 sparks one at a time and see who isn't happy? If that's the case, I've already cleaned out everything and put new NGK Iridiums in...

AE88 GTS Will not crank
Hey guys, Recently I've been tearing down the suspension on my 86' hatch, and she's been sitting for awhile. A month or so ago I decided to pressure wash the bay to help try and identify leaks. I covered and plastic wrapped everything but the alternator and starter. It initially ran for awhile, but ...

WTB AE92/AE101
Looking for an AE92 GTS in any form, no red color.
Same for AE101s, but really only looking for blue, green, black or white.
5MT a must. Will travel.

Re: Extinction Of The AE86
I know I need to shut up, but also remember that when the Corolla GT-S came out in the states, I believe the sticker price was around 26K USD. That is adjusted for inflation. So as long as you are under 26K, whether doing a full stock restoration, or modifying lightly or heavily, you are still absol...

Re: Extinction Of The AE86
I just want to say that the car culture with these RWD corollas, from my experience, is much better than anything else out there. For example, the S-chassis community is really annoying. Much more so than AE88, 92, or 82. These cars are not like S13s/14s. You usually can't just buy one and drive awa...

Re: CloudStrife's AE88
Alright, now here is some really boring geeky stuff. So I've basically restored the whole front suspension, and it was still cheaper and easier to keep the spindle/strut combo then getting decent coilovers. I do plan on getting some custom coilovers down the line, but in my experience over the many ...

Yup, I use image hosting too. Wish the mods would let us upload realistic size pictures directly... -_- Here is a shot of some of the parts I got: https://s6.postimg.org/w2do3rcg1/20161122_173507.jpg Here is the front suspension torn down and laid out: https://s6.postimg.org/gsdswkgxt/20161122_17345...

Re: aceforever's panda build log
You clown, That is a wonderful interior! Most of these cars are strictly track/gutted, so it's nice to see another mostly full interior (I believe I saw in a partially revealed interior shot you don't have rear plastics :P). I was a technician in the military, and you are correct in treating electri...

Re: aceforever's panda build log
Nice build man, I miss the PNW. I lived in Beaverton in the Portland area for a year. May I ask what your background is in mechanics/electronics? You seem to be comfortable with electrical work so I'm guessing prior service, EE/ME student, or tech? :P If I could ask about the window regulators, do y...

Re: CloudStrife's AE88
Man this site is a pain to attach pictures :) Spent the day tearing down the front strut/spindle/hub casing thing. I forgot to add when I called a dealership asking about new strut casings, the guy didn't believe me that the strut and spindle were one assembly lol. Getting the gland nut off is a pai...

CloudStrife's AE88
Hey guys, I am new to the 4AG community. I'm actually pretty new to Toyotas as well. I had a Previa which I lived out of for 3-4 months and a 5th gen Celica which I loved but the motor was too unreliable; I love the Castrol celicas. I'm coming from 90's Mazdas, as I was getting upset at the failure ...
