you have a catalytic installed? though a quart every 150 miles should be noticeable smoke from tailpipe if its burning it, even with a cat.

Re: Anyone done a RAM air?
it could be on the corner of the hood. i would have to look at what the headlight looks when the cover is off. might be able to move some stuff around to get the air to flow through the part in the core support that is behind the headlight. this is supposing air filter is in stock location. in Oki w...

But on the other side. under the hood, a box around the filter to block it from engine heat

its PITA to fit a Smallport intake manifold on rwd. Cut and shut or flip the whole intake around.
I have seen a honda B series intake manifold welded to a 4a intake flange.

Re: supra fuel pump in ae86
no mods required if i remember correctly. installed a Walbro with the supra kit on my ae86 a month or so ago. Straight bolt in replacement.
Otherwise stock fuel system.
Runs quite well too. and getting about 26-28 mpg in DC commuting traffic.

I just went back to stock manifold from the pacesetter. Not too much of a difference, performance wise. though i like the outlet size and the flanges weren't too bad.

Re: Oil cooler woes
I removed mine. took out the entire thing. Oil filter mounts directly to the block.
Mostly because I went to 20v Blacktop block and there is no provision in the oilpan for it, secondly it was original to the car, old af, needed all new hoses, seals, o-rings, none of my previous ae86(jdm) had it.

I have mistrust of the aluminum FW, though i have never used them.
picked up a Toda 3.7 kg a while back for a good price and never looked back. I actually recommend a light fw in any manual car.

Second on the switch, though i did not have to go as far as the re-soldering. Inspected the soldering and it was fine with no cracks or apparent shrinkage, but I did find a ridiculous amount of grease in the sliding contact area. Cleaned it up, polished the contacts and re-greased. Works like a char...

It looks pretty kick ass, I'm sorry you wasted your hard earned money on this.
You might be able to salvage/make it run better by re doing the cylinder pairing. Unless you can return it.

Re: Cx Racing Header pics and review
Does it have 1&2, 3&4 going together?
most other 4-2-1 headers are 1&4, 2&3
i.e. Toda, TRD 421, Pacesetter, etc.
I would like to know how it sounds and runs. Nevermind, found the video.

Re: Oil pan/ Rear main seal question
I used an engine puller to reseal my leaky oil pan, then to replace the oil pump. i thought about a jack on the pulley(for the pan reseal), but i didnt want to mess up the crank bearings or the pulley, or the oil pump. there might be enuff clearance to do the rear main with out jacking the engine.
