Re: Custom Clutch Line for SR5 to GTS Swaps

Any auto parts store will have generic brake line in lengths like 10", 20", 30" etc. Just measure the length from the M/C to the current SR-5 slave cylinder hose attachment fitting and get a GM brake line that is slightly longer then that dim. If you want the bling then go the braided...

Re: My differential exploded...

A possible Toyota option is the MA46 axle used on the light pickups and vans. But only the 2WD Van will have a 4 lug mounting while the others will be 5 or 6 wheel lugs. They are all within a few millimeters of being the same width, but none would not be a direct bolt in. You are probably better off...

It sound like an electrical issue. Odds are low that ALL the injectors are plug up with $hit at one time. I would first just try cleaning the ground connections for the injectors. If that does not solve the problem you should verify that the injectors are getting a signal. Use a noid lite or a VOM [...

I do not think you could justify the cost of a shim kit for one set of cams. You can typically get new shims from a Toyota dealer in just one or two days. If there is a problem in Germany, there are several motorcycles that use the same size shim. You will probably only need a couple new shims for e...

First, verify that there isn't any M/C leaks, which could indicate air in the system. You can made a longer push rod out of a metric bolt. Grind down the hex head so the radius matches the stock push rod end. Take your time when making the balled end on the rod. You do not want offset loads going in...

It sounds like you got water in the engine some way but it appears that you have dodge the bullet. I would just keep an eye on the oil and also the coolant level. Put a mark on the coolant over flow bottel at it's current level. This will make it easy to tell the level is changing. DaveW7

Yupper the old head gasket trick!!! I would not drive it until it fixed. There a good chance that you can screw up the head sealing surfaces. Buy an OEM or a good after market head gasket such as a Fel-Pro. Do not cheap out on a head gasket. The rest of the gaskets in a kit should not really matter....

Another issue is the RH motor mount bracket. The FWD block will probably already be taped for the engine mount bracket, but the FWD alternator mounting bracket will interfer with a stock AE86 RH mounting bracket. You will need a RWD alternator mounting bracket or fab/mod your own engine mount or mod...

The big port is not a torque motor, it needs to rev. Simple solution is a down shift. With that said, it could be bad gas. I would try switching to a different brand of gas, or go to a medium grade first to see if there is any improvement. It is hard to believe that a stock motor has problem with de...

That is actually what I used, Just attached a hose from the tank vent with a loop in it. While you are at the bike shop pick up a roll-over inline check valve. Both are low buck items.

You are going to have to vent the tank, either thru the gas cap or a breather. Air has to displace the fuel being pumped to the engine. You can probably use the current line already in the car and just run it to your air cleaner. Dave W

If you opened the bleeder valve and the brake is still locked, I would bet that it has to be something with the caliper. If the caliper is really worn the piston can jam inside the cylinder. Also check ALL the surfaces that the brake pads slide on. I assume that when you cracked the bleeder that flu...

You may not have enough free travel in the master cylinder push rod, to release the pressure to the rear axle. [ you have to uncover a bleed port in the M/C.] Do you have a return spring on the brake pedal? You also need 1mm of free play at the master clyinder push rod before it engages. It's also p...
