Re: Steering rack woes
I used an '83 Trueno GT Apex chassis number and my '87 Trueno GT Apex chassis number for comparison on the Toyota EPC. 45503-19015 is 83-87 manual racks and 83-85 P/S racks, both are quantity 2 so no left or right. 45503-19025 is 85-87 P/S racks also quantity 2. Then for the outers it seems that nor...

Re: excessive oil pressure on fresh engine rebuild
I get about 90 psi max on 2 of my 16v engines (6kg/cm2 on gauge) both with the later type AE92/101 pumps.
I think when cold around 50-60 psi and around 30 psi at idle when up to temperature.

I ran blacktop cams in a silvertop, just adjust the shims to suit the different cams and away you go.

Have you 12V on the black/white wire at the coil and igniter with the key in the run/on position?
A quick check to see if the ecu is powered up is check for 5V on the yellow wire of the MAP sensor and TPS sensor.

Re: Hi, 20v st (bt electronic)
If you have a timing light you can mark the intake pulley on the belt side and the cam side and even free revving you will see the pulley move when you shine the timing light at the pulley (timing light pickup on no.1 plug lead) The blacktop VVT works early in the revs whereas the silvertop VVT is e...

Rear end vibration is most likely due to an aftermarket lsd. If you feed in a bit more power the lsd should lock and the inner tyre will slip instead.

The Levin harness won't have the pop up light wiring and the connectors on either end might not suit your cars footwell junction boxes

Auckword1 is saying to adjust the motor crank arm. Loosen the nut, the arm is on a spline so rotate until in the correct position and tighten up the nut again. Is this something that just happened or a problem since you bought the car? Here's a picture of a motor but I'm not sure of the correct cran...

I run a T25G turbo from an S13 SR20DET on mine and it's a good match, you have the scope for lots of upgrades with a T25 flange and I got the turbo for about $100.

The above with grey clips is for a hatch. For a coupe the 3 yellow clips go along the bottom, the 3 green clips are on the B pillar and the 5 black clips go up the C pillar and on top of the glass. I only looked into this last week myself using the EPC with part numbers of the coloured clips to see ...

If you have OE front struts you can replace the inserts. For the rears Koni did an adjustable insert but you have to cut the tops of the struts and drill holes in the bottom to bolt the inserts in. I had them in AE101 struts Here's a front strut from an AE101 and a front and rear insert from Koni fo...

Does the pulley oil return hole have to line up with the notch in the cam thrust face?
I would assume it does but don't have the parts to hand to check.
