I've not looked inside a 4AC pump, but every mechanical pump I have played with worked the same. Two small spring-loaded disc valves and flexible rubberised fabric diaphragm. - Check the dissy wires and plug are good... no broken wires or bent pins. - Down below the dissy is one skinny black wire that has to be connected. - Under the fuse box there is one wire gets 12V when the key is ON and this has to be connected to the very end of the engine harness (after the oil pr...

Re: What kind of LSD unit should I buy?
So my LSD WORN out because both tires move in opposite directions. NO !! When the back of the car is off the ground and you turn the wheel, there is not enough load to clamp the plates. So the diff will act just like an open diff. But if you give the wheel a decent heave (in the forward direction)t...

Double check the plug wires for 1 > 3 > 4 > 2 firing order, put all the accessory
belts back on, and take the car for a run. You could have one or more cylinders
flooded, and you need to burn the excess gas out... driving on it will do that

Usual one to miss are the 3 or 4 brown ECU ground wires that connect to a single brass ring that is located under one of the bolts that hold the black plastic wiring duct to the intake side of the head. Its the back bolt, and the brown wires pop out of the harness at the firewall end of the duct and...

I have discovered over the years that even experts make mistakes. In that case, it looks as so you have power to the dash, so the
only possibility I can think of is that the multipin plugs that connect
the under dash harness to the cluster have fallen off.

I would also like to know what is the function of the COR ? The Circuit Opening Relay turns the fuel pump on. There are two coils inside. either of which will close the same set of contacts when energised. Those contacts supply 12V to the pump. One coil is energised when the engine is cranking, and...

Yes... the GAUGE fuse powers the function all the gauges, but the
illumination of the gauges is powered from a different fuse.

Re: AE82 4AGE Trouble.
If it gets hot enough that you don't want to rest your hand on it, then that's too hot. The EFI relay powers up the ECU, so if that one has an intermittent fault, it can switch the engine off. Try swapping in another relay and see if it makes a difference. The round one is most likely the ENG MAIN r...

Re: AE82 4AGE Trouble.
OK... next most popular suggestion is swap out the COR (Circuit Opening Relay). And while we are talking relays, you could try checking the temperature of all the relays in the underhood fusebox after the car has been running for a while. Any relay that gets HOT is suspect. A little bit warm is not ...

Should be set up in the software. Cranking + WOT = no fuel.
Crank with foot flat for 10 or 15 seconds to clear the excess fuel, then
lift your foot and crank normally.

Based on nothing more than numerous similar "dies when hot" posts, I would suggest you borrow a spare coil and igniter to swap in. Maybe swap the igniter first (make sure it is well bolted down as it grounds thru the outer casing). If that has no effect, put your original igniter back on, ...

Re: car won't start need help
With all that cranking it is most likely flooded. Have you tried
cranking in "flood clear" mode ? Pretty sure that will just be cranking
while you hold the throttle wide open.
