Re: AE86 Supercharged 3.8L v6 (Corolla GT-P)
oh, a couple years back, I bought a L67 with a slipping reverse gear. No immediate plans, but couldn't pass up a '$200 deal'. I stripped out the motor/loom/ecu etc.. and tucked it away. Scrapped the hull A friend has a 2 door Chevy chevette he's undecided on. I told him, "ready when u are"...

Re: AE86 Supercharged 3.8L v6 (Corolla GT-P)
That hammerhead looking oil pan is wierd & elaborate. Good job on the fit I mentioned to the GTP guy on 3TCforum, get ready for a fight. End result was a major 'front mounted steering rack' deal. Got it done tho i thought those rods laying around in your bellhousing pictures were ARC My neighbou...

Re: AE86 Supercharged 3.8L v6 (Corolla GT-P)
looks like the same AE 3800 seen posted on a forum a couple years ago ? A GTP guy on the old 3TC forum, posted his L67 KE rolla 10+ yrs back With the 3800 torque band, if you nail the gearing, car would rip. Even the normally aspirated version Coming from buick V6s, crossing over into imports.... th...

been seeing these sorta builds precision 62, on a built mazda 1.6L bottom end + stock head(except valvesprings). I believe he mentioned 547hp? says another head being built up, with cams etc.. Very similar recipee to the 4agte featured at start of the thread https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiSxYmRC6s4

Yes same stock valve springs. If they were tired and old I highly doubt they would of handled 32psi yeah, but are they "handling" it. Guy with the awesome 10sec AE92 Levin mantioned above, thought so too. Started with bone stock 20V head read half way down the page: http://forums.toyspeed...

Re: 10.92 at the track
numbers from numerous other examples. You'd struggle to find 62mm 32psi 11:1 examples at 450hp its not a 1.6 thing as 62mm D16s put up same 6-700 as any make 1.8, 2.0, etc. Its a stock 4AGE headflow thing, was the point it is what it is. Sure u can drive in nails with a 6 pound sledge, but.... nothi...

A beast in the making. what is your ET goal ? E series gearbox ? Stock head with stock valvesprings.... ok for big boost ? what redline ? Wouldn't the same setup in a RWD, leave and ET considerably quicker ? ..or is the required gearbox adapt & diff swap, the deal breaker ? You don't see these a...

Re: 4AGE automatic
"plenty of torque" is relative tq from a boosted motor, on another level than its normally aspirated counterpart... hence different gearing requirements the extra gear won't do anything for acceleration, in the examples listed For your build, the J160 is a perfect application imo.... exact...

for a daily driver tvis could only enhance 7age torque. Yeah, 160hp require fairly aggresive cams, that might leave the intake behind ? dunno Vehicle use & hp goals would dictate intake - broad midrange tq, or peak hp if screaming around with noisy ITBs, where the tach rearly see under 5000rpm =...

Re: Keep the bigport? 7age build
search the crapload of 7AGE builds on the net. More than a few raved about their bigport 7A builds I'd imagine you're after the torque increase. Its CRITICAL u get cam timing in sync. Some fail = disappointing performance I'd keep TVIS & intake (unless u got ITB plans). Look into smallport pisto...

No. Only thing lost, is the one who gave u that advice.

Re: 4AGE automatic
Running an auto has been in the back of my mind for a long time. Looked at fitting a later model auto from an Altezza but just too much work to get it installed in an AE86. Control would be a problem as well, as it would need an aftermarket trans controller and that is another heap of work. GS300/A...

u r off to a good start. Will that HKS exhaust not strangle a 4agte.... looks kinda small I'd rethink forced induction. If you want a power car this is the wrong chassis. BEAMS swap can be drop in and A LOT less headache than trying to go turbo. Nothing transform a street corolla like boost. Proven ...
