4age engine brackets

I am installing a blacktop 4age into a non Toyota (1960 Morris Minor). I need some engine brackets that attach to the block that will give me a starting point to fabricate my frame attachment. I know the 4ac will work to go into a ae86 chassis but they are a bit hard to find and not sure that's my best choice. A bunch of aftermarket on ebay, but not sure which will work
Thanks in advance

Pretty sure that AE86 GTS (I think the same as SR5) OEM brackets will be your
best bet. They bolt up with one bolt in conflict with another bracket, but easily
fixed. Then you can bolt on the OEM AE86 engine mounts and that just leaves
the mount to chassis rail part to be fabbed.

This pic shows the OEM mounting arrangement...

Depending on how much width you have to work with, it could suit. Note that
the factory install has the engine tilted slightly to one side.

Yes... one is a casting and the other is pressed steel. Note that the
engine mounts have two parts... a pressed steel cover and a rubber
"sandwich" with a fixing stud on either side. The engine mounts are
the same both sides.

Try searching 4A-GE dimensions by Rick Hargraves
He has detailed prints for fabricating both RH and LH engine mounts. http://www.webgate.net/~rbp/4age.html

One more question regarding brackets. Will the ae86 air conditioning bracket line the compressor up with the blacktop pulley?

Can't answer that question. But I do recall that when installing a converted FWD 16V
engine into an AE86, there was an alignment issue. FWD crank pulleys have a slightly
different offset to RWD crank pulleys, and to make everything line up, you have to
use all FWD pulleys or all RWD pulleys. That is, crank, water pump and alternator.

I went for a RWD crank pulley as at the time I wanted to use a viscous cooling fan,
and that only works with the RWD water pump. And, as the A/C compressor pulley is
on the compressor, if I remember correctly, I had to use the AE86 RWD cradle.

So good idea to do your homework on pulleys and alignment before getting too far into
the conversion. Much easier to set things up before the engine is installed :)
