Anyone knows the name of this hose and the part #?
Re: Anyone knows the name of this hose and the part #?
That hose is for venting the crankcase gases. The 4AGE hose dose not have a PVC valve in it. [Positive Ventated Crankcase.]
It is not a special hose! Any hose with a tight fitting ID can be used as a replacement.

Does air ever get pulled into the head through that hose? Just wondering, as the 4A-FE has a PCV valve there.

Yes, the air from the engine cam cover enters the intake throught the hose. The 4AGE only has baffles in the cam cover and no PVC. That is why you see some cars that auto-cross during hard cornering have a puff of smoke from the exhaust, because the intake just got some oil sucked in from cam cover on a RH turn. The fix is to run a longer hose to a catch can, then a return back to the intake.

I suppose it's better to have the return hose running from the catch can to the intake, than to just plug up the fitting on the intake and vent the catch can? Like the intake is drawing air out of the crankcase, which is necessary?
