So...Last August I bought a 1986 Corolla GT-S with the assumption that it had all the GT-S goodies.
I finally got around to doing the suspension and today as I was doing the rears, I spun the tire on the driver side and noticed the other tire spinning the opposite way.
I sat there baffled thinking that since it has an LSD that both tires are supposed to spin in the same direction and as I sat there I also noticed a sticker on the diff that said "Only LSD Oil".
I then spun the tire again and witnessed the same result, tires spinning in the opposite direction.
Before I go taking things apart to verify 100%, here are the things I'm wondering...
Is my LSD super jacked causing it not to work?
Or is it possible someone pulled the LSD?
Rear Diff\LSD question
Re: Rear Diff\LSD question
So you're telling me there's a chance...
That it's either or and the only way to tell is to open it up.
Would I be able to see the LSD if I took the bolts out where you put the fluids in and took a peep?

"You could try removing the fill plug and shining a flashlight in the hole to try and see the diff case. You'll be able to see the spider gears on an open diff since the diff is not enclosed. An lsd will look like an enclosed can."
I'm saying all of your questions have probably already been answered in the other thread if you read it all.

Re: Rear Diff\LSD question
LSD oil only.
Re: Rear Diff\LSD question
I was able to get the rigged on fill plug off and I shined a flashlight in there and low and behold....spider gears...Looks like someone swapped the lsd out at some point.
bummer.
bummer.
Re: Rear Diff\LSD question
I put my to the test today. Dead stop 4k rpm and clutch drop. It left a number 11. I couldn't be happier. This is the best / funnest method to use.
