Went to start my car at work and I turned the key and then felt a click and now the ignition switch just slides around no resistance at all.
Suffice to say it wouldn't start with out a push start.
Worst of all it's stuck in run mode so I have to disconnect the battery when I'm not driving it.
Any ideas on the problem and fixes for it? Even a temp fix as it's my daily driver and I don't get paid till next week.

Re: Ignition switch sliding
Guess I'll say what others are thinking.
'After pay day, order a new switch. Or go to a junkyard.'
Good luck. I'll be buying a new Ignition switch real soon too.

AE86 How to remove ignition barrel...
Just the barrel/cylinder?
Insert key, Turn to 'on' position.
With the cover off, if you look at the top of the barrel there is a hole. In that hole
is a pin. Push it down with a small drill bit, screwdriver, or whatever you have handy.
It'll slide right out.
Thanks to assassin10000
Key in the ACC Position.
Press the pin in.
And remove.
Thanks to TWIN CAM STATUS
