Amatuer hour oil question.

Postby Bearsareprettycute. » Fri Sep 12, 2014 3:06 pm

Been fiddling round with my (new too me) '87 GTS, keep in mind i am still learning quite a bit. I wanted to know what engine oil you guys use, and what i should use. i live in west coast Canada if that helps you guys specify what grade i should use. Thanks!

Same as anyone else around there that doesn't have a new engine will be fine, any non-diesel automobile on the road that isn't in Siberia or the Sahara, nothing special or magic except, don't follow some 0W-50 synthetic changed every 4k km/2K miles BMW yo-yo wannabe.

10W40 semi-synthetic from any name brand will have you covered for
everyday use at a reasonable price. If it gets down to minus 10 or 15 deg
Centigrade in winter, you might want to look at a 5W40 for easier starting.
