AE86 Lower rubber radiator mounts

Postby toyzilla » Sat Oct 13, 2018 9:04 pm

Hey guys, I'm having a very hard time finding some AE86 lower rubber radiator mounts. I looked online for them, but no luck. Is there any cross models like Honda, Nissan or any other Toyota model that would fit? Thanks Guys...

For what it's worth, I've used heater hose as a spring insulator without issue.

Odds are any spare rubber fuel line, power steering return hose, or small heater hose can be used to rig up a decent bushing.

Hope it helps,

Nick. ^_^

Thanks Nick94tt, so basically we don't want the bottom of the tank hitting the radiator support. By using a three inch long hose with a hole that the radiator dowel pin will fit, should do the trick... Not very pretty, but I think it might work.... LOL... Hey, Thanks Nick94tt...

I had a feeling someone would have the non-hack answer, lol. Been a while since I installed my aluminum radiator (5 years or so...)

Last time I did similar was to save a friend some money after they had a small mishap in a cavalier. Repairs were going to cost more than the car was worth - retail.

I know it's not quite the same setup, but when I fit a Honda Civic "half size" aluminum radiator into my AE95 I had temporarily used one of these (or another size, I forget) on the Civic rad mount that I had to add.

Of course I had ordered the correct Honda part, but for temporary purposes this leg tip thing worked fine with some slight modifications.

That so funny, because I have a Honda Civic half radiator as well and plan A was to install it in my AE86. Modifying a lower radiator support bracket would be a bit stressful, so decided to go to plan B. An aftermarket aluminum stock replacement. But after buying this radiator, that's where my journey began... lol... But, thanks a lot guys.
