Hey, everyone. I'm rolling along nicely with my sr5-> gts swap, and I'm to the point where I want to install the starter. The new starter has a lug for an eyelet, and a single plug. The engine wiring harness has a few plugs, 2 of which would plug into the starter, but if either is plugged into the starter, the round black plug will not reach it's mate near the fuse box. What am I missing? Should there be an intermediate wire for the starter signal wire? If anyone has a good picture of the wiring near the battery, ignitor, and starter, I'd really, really appreciate it.

The starter's wire connects to a short wire from the starter, not directly.

So the wire for the starter is just a wire with plugs on both ends?
Re: Driver Side Engine Bay Wiring, specifically starter
Here are some pictures of my wiring. They should enlarge if you click on them.

Here is the wire from the starter.

Here the wire goes underneath the engine mount and starts going up to the battery. That unplugged yellow round plug in the top left is for the O2 sensor FYI.

The positive wire goes all the way up to the wingnut on the positive battery terminal.

The wire that plugs into the black plug on the starter goes to this other black plug near the ignition coil and distributor wiring harness.
I'm pretty sure it's one wire from the battery to the starter... so I'm not sure why someone said it's separate unless they have a different harness. Anyway good luck.
