Re: Mystery 4AGE Harness Not Cut--Missing ECU Plug 3?

According to the information provided here... http://club4ag.com/faq_and_tech_pages/ECU%20USA%20AE86%204A-GE.htm ... you should have the 14-pin " C* " wire to wire (in-line) plug. The wires that are connected by this plug are marked on the wiring diagram with C* in a square box with two ar...

Re: My 1985 GTS Coupe is misfiring please help.

Doesn't sound like there is much wrong ? Was the engine still warming up
when you made those clips ? Does it actually misfire when under load, as in
while you are driving, accelerating etc ?

Correct. Should be 210-212mm outside diameter clutch disc. Use the
AE86 throwout bearing and spigot bearing (if you have a 20V engine).

Re: Bike carb conversion: Gas pedal travel issue

Ideally you would want to swap the cable quadrant on the carbs for an AE86 EFI sized throttle quadrant. If you can't swap the whole quadrant you might be able take the outer part of the AE86 size quadrant and tack that onto the bike quadrant. https://i.imgur.com/AeFuqdN.jpg There are other hacks tha...

Re: ITB's, Coilpack, Haltech ECU installation for 16v

What about getting the idle air into the engine ? The setup is along the same lines as for the MAP sensor. This time use 8mm (5/16") hose tails tapped into the adapter plate and into whatever accummulator you are using. As well as the four throttles you will connect one larger hosetail (at leas...

So how the heck do you get a decent MAP signal out of ITB's ?? http://www.midrear.net/images/projects/20V/vacuumtank2.JPG In this pic I think that the builder used two small factory titties and tapped two new ones into the #2 and #3 throttles. That looks like a ST that has been converted to BT elect...

Re: ITB's, Coilpack, Haltech ECU installation for 16v

I think the best idea is to just work thru the wiring one input or output at a time. For sure if you try and do five at once you will get a headache :) Concentrate on getting each input or output completed and tested and marked "DONE" on your wiring diagram. Once the wiring is all done, th...

Re: ITB's, Coilpack, Haltech ECU installation for 16v

Five years ago I was running my car with a 16V smallport, ST ITB's, 272 cams, custom intake manifold and an aftermarket ECU. The engine was tuned on TPS vs RPM for both fuel and ignition, but I had a MAP sensor connected as the ECU factored manifold pressure into the equation when calculating fuel. ...

This extract from the Haltech Platinum Sport Manual says that within the list of Motronic triggering pattern included with the ECU software, there is one for 24+1. Re: ITB's, Coilpack, Haltech ECU installation for 16v

I'm trying to use the distributor as a trigger wheel. Talking in general terms because I don't know which distributor you have, there will be two trigger wheels inside the base. The one underneath will have more teeth (4, 12 or 24) and the one on top will have less teeth (1 or 4). The one with the ...

Re: Could LED sealed beam melt a headlight plug?

LED lamps should not draw any more current than the OEM incandescent lamps so if the plug melted it is likely there was some kind of short or arcing from a bad connection. You need to replace the damaged plug... maybe you can find one from an 80's Toyota at the junkyard. Take the plug complete with ...

Agreed. There is no doubt that additives work, and the big oil companies spend a lot of time and money on researching and evaluating the apecific additives that they put into their oil formulations. The confusion arises when small bottles of oil additives are sold over the counter with spurious clai...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing

The wiring diagrams that I have don't show any fuse in the injector power supply. The relay gets power directly from the battery (via one of the fusible links) and the relay is energised by 12V from the ignition switch. So basically if 12V appears at the injectors when you turn the key ON you are go...

Best place to test for fuel flow/pressure is at the outlet hose from the fuel pressure regulator. Maybe we are both misunderstanding each other. However, there are a couple of misconceptions that com...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing

The resistor pack does not need to be grounded. It is just 12V in and 12V out and there is no reason for grounding. OK, so I was shooting from the lip there. When the circuit is not active it is 12V in and 12V out, but when it is active it is more like 12V in and 3V out due to voltage drop across t...
