The dimensions I sent Precision Shims in Australia were :-

OD 8.0mm
ID 5.1mm
HEIGHT 4.4mm
Recess Depth varies [it's a shim!], but around 2.4mm

He had them on the shelf. Nice bloke to deal with

Funny that this should happen to you. I'be been searching for an elusive oil leak from mine and finally found it to be the VVT solenoid housing. The oil found its way through to the terminal block and into the wiring loom - then down the side of the engine. Haven't heard of it happening before that ...

I had a seal fail in mine shortly after rebuilding an engine - but it kept leaking after coming off the track as there was a whole piece missing. My guess would be that you might have venting or blowby issues. Since the leak only occurred when the engine was being thrashed [when blowby is highest], ...

I don't know how you could measure the compression without the cams in - you need the intakes to open to get some air in there in the first case!

My silvertop was similar, and I'm aware of plenty of others over here in Oz with similar stories. Seems they don't get a lot of servicing in their former lives in the far east!.
