Re: Help: stripped wire
that looks like a WHT / BLK, typically ground. If it's TAN /BLK, then i dunno, but that plug looks like the main cluster that powers that fuse box considering the BLK / RED. my suggestion to you is follow it, make sure that's the only problem wire. pull out the connector using a pick. Get a roll of ...

Re: w58 trans swap questions.
Nice. Congrats on the find. Assuming 209 means Stockton, is that 88 4runner still intact? Still have it's transfer case, pedals, transmission? Is the engine still there? I have a 22re powered 4runner auto and might benefit from a 5 speed swap.

Re: w58 trans swap questions.
nope. the 90 degree adapter only changes the direction of the cable. Also, I think i tried using one once and it re-directed the cable to the crossmember, so i ditched it. if you can attach it without any obstructions, you should be good to go. from a 4runner? so then a W56 with a 4x4 transfer case?...

I know about them. Was going to be a project for me, but time and money do not allow at the moment. Right now it's just a project on paper that i've been working on for maybe just a few months. Waiting for a sale on rear ends at PNP or the next 50% sale. what is the measurement on the case? or from ...

Re: w58 trans swap questions.
IIRC, there's a worm gear on the output shaft that matches with the speedo gear. The two types of worm gears are 10 and 11 teeth, so i guess you get a 50/50 chance of getting one that matches. The variation on the speedo gear is between 30-35 teeth. I'm going to guess that if you get any speedo gear...

do you remember the car it came out of? I think there were different sized gears (number of teeth) depending on the car (since celicas and supras had different engines, final drives, etc.).

The rims are called "Hentai." They are listed as "4 holes," which I take they'll come in 4 lug pattern.
But hentai tentacle man from the dirty south shinjuku has 6 tentacles. What's he gonna do with the other 2?

1) understood. I don't claim to know everything, so thanks for the corrections. Dizzy position sensor makes more sense. 3) "When adjusting the timing you are moving the cap and the pickups on the dizzy so it all changes in perfect relation to each other. The trigger wheel and the cap stay still...

Distributor observations: are these statements true?
So in observing how the cap and rotor behave on the distributor, i made some realizations about the entire distributor assembly. Please let me know if these statements are true, in the interest of further understanding: 1) Contained within the distributor are two related items that are not exactly c...

looks great nix. did you use the stock 22re engine brackets and drill a hole for the offset dowel on the 4ag rubber mounts? that's how i envisioned it would work. The bolt hole in the 22re engine bracket is the same size as the mounting point on the rubber mount (either M12 or M14). the only differe...

Re: Hachi not starting?
get a length of pipe and tap the starter. sometimes it just needs a little jostling. also, hotwire the starter like said before. IIRC, if you can get a clip for the solenoid with a length of wire, you can touch it to the positive lead on the battery and you might get a kick. make sure your car isn't...

Re: 4age ITB smog
Do your swap CA compliant, get it working properly, pass smog. Then do the ITB conversion and keep the CA compliant stuff in a box in your garage. When it's time to get smog, swap the CA compliant stuff back. when you're done passing smog, put your ITBs back on for 2 years. it's that simple.
