Re: Inconsistent Charging.
My fix for this problem was replacement of the round plug's pigtail. If you unhook your plug, you'll notice the wires will have naturally bent downwards due to gravity and if you bend them the opposite direction I bet you'll find the insulation and wires are broken. This is why it drops out when you...

Re: Engineering Help with Oil Sender
After consulting the FSM, it does appear the sender has some kind of frequency modulation circuit inside of it. Procedures instruct you to connect a 3.4W incandescent lamp in series with it to make the sender produce a pulse train that varies in frequency proportional to RPM. With this information i...

Re: Engineering Help with Oil Sender
I just noticed something on the new sender that may be relevant. On the body, 12V 6K is printed. The 12V is rather obvious but does the 6K denote that it is supposed to be a 0-6000 ohm transducer? I'm afraid I'm not well versed in the automotive industry's method of marking parts.

Engineering Help with Oil Sender
Greetings all. This post is primarily directed towards an automotive electrical engineer but if you happen to have worked on this before, feel free to chime in. I am currently building a custom arduino powered gauge system for my AE86. The only portion of the original Toyota designed system that wil...

Re: Front wheel hubs are nowhere to be found.
Thanks for the replies guys. The source of this frustration was my local stealership telling me they couldn't get them. I found a OEM toyota website that has em for $139 each for the PN Duece Cam posted.

Re: Front wheel hubs are nowhere to be found.
I haven't posted anything yet, though I'm not ruling that out. I really am looking for new production ones before going used. This is a wear part and I have no idea what Toyo was thinking not just building it into the rotor as GM does. They've been in bed with GM for ages anyway so there really isn'...

The easiest redneck way to get it out is....don't. You slide a piece of board or sheet metal over it and put the carpet back

Re: Ae86 power steering rack
I just replaced my rack 2 days ago. Autozone carries racks for $200. The high pressure line is also available for $53 but changing it with the engine in the car looks nearly impossible. I reused the old one. The rack can be removed from the vehicle with the engine in, however you'll need to drop the...

Front wheel hubs are nowhere to be found.
I have a Zenki 1985 AE86 GTS. I am in need of the front wheel hub but I can't find one anywhere. The hub I am referring to is the piece that the brake rotor bolts to, contains the wheel bearings, and rolls on the front spindle. This is NOT a FWD model. If it were I could get a hub. Mine has had the ...
