You sure that fuel pump's working? It may just be dirty, but the little tank thingy looked bone dry.

Re: 4AC blown, what the hell am I getting myself into??
I never doubted survivors were lurking lol. I guess my biggest concern is if everything is just plug and play. Strip the 4-AC and all its stuff, drop the 4-AGE and all its goodies, plug everything in the harnesses or the ECU, then that's basically it? I'm sure there's a lot more than that to an engi...

Re: 4AC blown, what the hell am I getting myself into??
I was thinking of getting some friends and making a funnny/informative video tutorial on the swap. I'll do a build log at the very least! I don't want the future generation of SR5'ers to feel like they're treading uncharted waters

Re: 4AC blown, what the hell am I getting myself into??
Thanks, everyone, I'm feeling a lot more confident now :D My biggest fear on this is just messing up in the swap, then having to take everything apart just to plug in a fuse or something. But hopefully by the time the engine's ready, I'll be a little more mechanically inclined and I'll have assassin...

4AC blown, what the hell am I getting myself into??
So yeah I blew out the head gasket on my 4AC, and since I got another daily, I figured it's finally time to lay the old single cam to rest. Although I've been researching and digging up any guide I could on ensuring a smooth GT-S swap, I just don't have enough money right now to buy all the parts at...

WTB: Window Trim + Mudflaps
What's up guys, the title says all really, the vertical piece of my window trim on my Kouki Coupe blew off at an AE86 meeting(embarassing lol), and I figure some cool mudflaps would be nice too. If anybody got any feel free to reply here or just shoot a text, my number is 831-234-7630. Thanks guys! ...

Can someone please show me a picture or diagram on how these mount on an AE86? Or at least someone else's fog lights on a USDM bumper? I need to push my lip back if I want these things apparently too, what a mess XD

Re: Fog light mounting help?
Cool thanks, I'll look for a couple of L brackets then, and by fastening to the chassis you mean to use the chassis instead of the bumper to mount it to?

Yeah that would be helpful wouldn't it? Fog light mounting help?
Hey gang, ran into a bit of a hassle in some badass new fog lights I bought. My original plan was to mount them into the lisence plate bracket in the bumper, but those are 10mm holes and my fog lights are 13mm. I'm curious to know if there's some kind of adapter I can get to mount the fog lights int...

WTB: AE86 parts
What's up guys, I was looking around for a few parts and was curious to see if anybody's got what I need:
- Driver side Corner Light
- JDM Front Bumper
- OEM Mud Guards
That's about it for now, namely that corner light, if anybody's got those parts that'd be awesome! Thanks guys!

I didn't know there was a group for Northerners...sounds fun mind if I join in? :) yes, as long as you follow the rules (like the intro one, a lot of people request to join and don't do an intro. they get booted quite often). we have a few other santa cruz dudes in the group too. Re: The best 4-AC upgrades...
The best thing I did to my 4-AC when i had it was just simply flip the air filter cover so that there is a gap all the way around the edge which enables the carb to pull in more air. The cover will tighten down on the air filter so all the air drawn is still through the filter. Unscrew the wing nut...

Re: The best 4-AC upgrades...
Wow, so many suggestions! I haven't a clue where to start XD I guess in terms of just keeping my car a nice daily driver for now is all I need, so I guess I'll start with restoring the 4-AC to it's former glory and rebuild it, then I suppose a nice carb and then I can think about a 4-AGE later when ...

Re: How many AE86 are left in the U.S.?
They seem awful plentiful, there's almost always one or two up for grabs on CL in my area, even though I've only seen 1 AE86 in the area that wasn't mine. Is the 8-6 considered rare nowadays? Not many get scrapped and the few that do are usually just converted into part cars. I'm assuming that for n...

Re: The best 4-AC upgrades...
since you have an sr5 i would suggest carbed 4ag to reduce the amount of wiring you will need. the 4ac really is a wast of time it was designed for economy not performance plus there isnt much of an aftermarket for those engines with good reason too. you also might want to consider a 3tc as well. W...

Re: Name of Body Kit?
I'd say mess with the door then, it just sweeps into the door then nothing...then it flies back out again. It's fine, but it won't be as easy to squeeze into parking spaces than in a stock AE86~ But even so dude, it's your 8-6, you can mess with it in any way you want, and it surely stands out more ...

Re: The best 4-AC upgrades...
Flip the air filter box lid! :D You sure that's not some urban myth? I took off the lid and started it and it didn't sound any different XD But yeah I suppose I'll go for the twin-cam conversion if it really costs as much as simply upgrading the 4-AC, and with a 4-AGE, I guess I'll be able to get m...

Re: The best 4-AC upgrades...
I've heard some dudes can get their 4-AC up to 150 hp with just a nice tune-up and the addition of those things I mentioned, I don't have time right now anyway for an engine swap or anything drastic, I just wanna get a little more "oomph" out of what I got now. I don't mean to be rude or ...

Re: The best 4-AC upgrades...
All of the normal things will add power. Cam+Carb+exhaust manifold. Now that I've addressed your question, I'll follow with the 4AC is a massive waste of time. You're not going to surpass the 4AG let along match it without significant amount of time, money and resources. I've heard some dudes can g...

Hey guys, so for now I abandoned my "SR5 to GT-S project", and I'm now wondering what are some darn good ways to up the power in my 4-AC. I was looking around at the general suggestions for mods and I'm considering the Schneider racing cams, but the ones for the 4-AC have different rev ran...

Re: Initial D tax at an all time high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that's insane! No one in their right mind would buy that, especially when they can find something just as good on CL or even Ebay for a fraction of that price...and who'd spend that kinda money on an AE86? I'd go all out and get an R35 GT-R or a Porsche 911 if I got that kind of cash XD
