Re: Turn Key 20VBT AEM TOMIE

Your ex Manifold, is it the cusco "football" header? if so it will not fit in a LHD application. Buyers should not worry about this though. If it is the football header, its a piece of ae86 history and will be fantastic garage wall art! GLWS great looking engine bay. Neat and tidy wiring ...

Re: Realistic NA Build HP.

I didn't have knock monitoring and it just shoots about a quart of oil every few miles through my valve cover breather and when I crank it sounds like I got weak compression. I did enjoy the power but I just couldn't get it to stop breaking at the track. I understand reliability has nothing to do w...

Re: 20V BT low compression!

The CXracing turbo does seem a little big but i just like the kit as it has everything i need to put it together with out searching for parts or peicing it together and fabricating anyting. I know the T3 flange was(or used to be) pretty popular. I haven't been in the turbo game for a Long time. Been...

Yeah I can make anything you need. Here is a 16v mani I made for a turbo race car a while back. https://www.facebook.com/MatrixGarage/photos/pb.404942989541932.-2207520000.1427564842./655872941115601/?type=3&theater Big short runners and massive plenum. I think they wanted peak power around 9k ...

Re: 20V BT low compression!

Wow very nice. I bet it handles great on the street since it can spool the turbo so fast. This is my autocross car so fast spooling is Good. The car only weighs 1975 so it does not take much to make it a fast car. I run with 400hp Subarus all day long and usualy hang or beat them autocross racing. W...

Re: 20V BT low compression!

I was just reading your Blog on turboing 4AGE's. Think im sold. I have all the supporting mods to run a turbo. Just need the kit. This is not a drag or drift car so I dont need to go Crazzy on power. Time to start doing side jobs and start saving. In the mean time Ill probably just run my current se...

Re: 20V BT low compression!

So what your telling me is I need to TURBO my car ;) HAHA HEHE I guess that was my biggest miscalculation. I know E85 has less energy potential then Pump Gas but with all my research people with NA and this engine have run it succesfully. The only variable I forgot to take into consideration is Alti...

Re: 20V BT low compression!

Laptop, Aem Tuner program on a dyno. I did not tune it. Fuel seemed to be pretty dialed in. Had a pretty close to 13:1 AFR. That is shown on the botton of the dyno sheet. We only had an Hour on the Dyno so could probably get more out of it with more time. We did not mess with timing very much as we ...

Re: 20V BT low compression!

Sure, ill take a pic of my graph tonight. The MR2 Is totally stock!! No cams, no nothing. I would figure he has less drive train loss then my AE86 but I figured I would gain more then 2 torque over my crappy worn out 16 valve. If his MR2 was a stock largeport then either that dyno was way off or he...

Re: 4age complete swap price question

It really varries on condition. I sold my JDM Map 16Valve for I think $550. Engine, ecu, harness. No trans. But it had like 175k miles and had a low comperssion cylinder and burnt oil. With trans and in good running condition I would think around $1000-$1500

We can forget about this thread. No clue why im low on power for what I was expecting but regardless it runs good. I took altitude into consideration but that should not cause a almost 100PSI drop. 20V BT low compression!

Anyone have any insight on my problem. Im kinda stumped right now. I just tuned my 20V BT and it came back with disappointing numbers on the dyno. 128WHP and 97WTQ(comparisson, my friend put down 124whp and 104 torque on the same dyno in a MR2 last year. Toally stock engine). I tested the compressio...

Are your talking about the Idle Air Control Valve!?!?! That has nothing to do with how the engine runs off idle.

Re: where can I get fender flares AE 86 track car

Battle Garage carrys fender flares. Just trim the fenders some and call it good. I did that to my racecar Levin and I like the way it looks. Cut just the section of the flare where it bends straight down. Going to run 15x9 0 offset 245/40/15 Hoosiers. I may have to trim more tho, we will see.

15x9 0 offset will fit but you will probably have to stretch the hell out of some little tires and roll the fenders.

Re: VVT Problems!??!

Correct, when the vvt is unplugged, it works fine. Ive ruled out the sensors at this point as they checked out fine when I tested them a while back. I thought it mightve been an ecu as well but no difference when I swapped in a working one. Exactly this. unplug the vvt and it goes away and drives p...

Im running Tomie Pon Cams 264/256. It usually happens all the time right about 3k rpm. It only does it at 50ish % throttle. Seems to be worse when warm as when its cold the VVT is not actuated. At this point I really don't care about it. I can drive it on the street around it, just have to be precis...

Im using the stock 16V belt. I have a RWD waterpump and T3 pump and crank pulley. fits fine. If not just get some string, wrap it around and head to the parts store with the length and they can match you up one!

Sounds like a wheel bearing. If you swerve lightly back and forth does it get louder and quiter? It should get louder when you load the bearing. The cheap wheel bearings sold at either advanced auto parts or autozone are actually Toyo Bearings. Like $25 each. Or I used bearings from Car Quest, for g...

Re: Brake pedal goes soft,?

sounds like air in the system or a bad master cylinder. check for leaks from all 4 calipers and the back of the master. If those are all dry along with the lines I would suspect it being a bad master cylinder. when the internal seals go bad they bleed pressure past them and it sinks to the floor.
