Re: NC Panda's 20v GTSR5 years in the making
Got some of the sanding and stuff done on the filler for the firewall. Put a layer of primer on the wells and the passenger side firewall to get a better idea of where my valleys are and see what still needs attention without having to stare at the multicolored sections of metal, sanded filler, and ...

Re: NC Panda's 20v GTSR5 years in the making
Got to work on some more of the engine bay today. Not quite done still but very close. Got to start working on the filler on the firewall and, though it looks a little rough, it came out a little better than I expected. http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/ag75/NCPanda/20130521_194444_zps0b114630.jpg...

Re: NC Panda's 20v GTSR5 years in the making
Got some pics of where the engine bay is currently. This is after the first layer of body filler. I haven't done the filler on the firewall yet, I still have a few spots to touch up first but the wheel wells and spots that I removed look about right for how they need to be. Smooth as a baby's bottom...

Re: NC Panda's 20v GTSR5 years in the making
So i forgot to grab pics but the engine bay is ready for the next round of body filler. Thankfully this layer should involve much less work since I can now see where the bulges/holes are much easier. It also feels ooh so smooth and clean. I'm getting really excited to start spraying the primer on it...

If it had 0 miles, the fingerprints from the last mechanic to put a bolt on or the dealership still on it un-smeared, was blessed by Keiichi, Taka, and Katsuhiro, ran on jet fuel (resulting in the ability to fly), some dank Tofu, and maybe a 6 pack of Asahi...... id still go tell him to shove the sh...

So you're saying you are going to put the pics of the 20v up still or what? You said look for it and you don't have any pics of a motor other than the 7afe. There are a ton of the body which looks nice and all but I wanted to see how that 20v looked sitting under the hood

Re: NC Panda's 20v GTSR5 years in the making
The cluster actually fell through. There was some funny business going on on the other end of that deal that seemed very similar to a deal that screwed me out of about $200 a while ago. Learned my lesson with funny situations and do not plan to have to put up with that kind of stuff again if I can h...

Thanks man, I've had a bit of experience behind a few MIG machines when I was in school. Now I have a Lincoln 140HD MIG of my own that I can use whenever. I need to go ahead and get my air tank for it so I can stop using Flux but it all seemed to hold fairly well and most welds will end up covered a...

well... the moving is taking longer than expected but i'm still getting a few things taken care of. here's the new valve cover, plenum cover, and gear/pulley covers that'll go on it... Van Halen inspiration with a little twist to match the rest of the car http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/ag75/NCP...

Re: Painting corolla panda
Sand it down yourself for sure. It takes time and patience but you will def save yourself money. Also, don't go to low grit just to speed things up, you'll cut the metal and that costs more to repair in the long run. Now, depending on how much you realllly care about the outcome, you can go get some...

Re: NC Panda's 20v GTSR5 years in the making
So I started doing some sanding on the filler and it started getting reallly dusty real quick and my face mask's were not that good. So, to save my lungs I'm putting the sanding on hold for a few days until I can pick up a better ventilator. I did start on some extra little stuff though just to have...

Finally time for this to start looking like it's clean again... well, almost. The filler went on pretty well for my taste, now to let it dry and start the sanding process. Only grabbed pics of the drivers side, but you get the idea. http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/ag75/NCPanda/20130401_180410_zp...

Re: Rear 4 links replacement
it really all depends on how your car decided to settle itself and what decided to seize up. Mine just took a little extra love. And that required tool would be a breaker bar, it's just a long bar that has a 1/4 inch socket adapter on the end that pivots. Go to HF, Autozone, (insert any place that s...

Sounds good man, minus the rust spots that may as well be a copy of the car i picked up with some pretty similar plans. I'm excited to see where you take this car haha. Where were those 86's going to the junkyards? Just curious (doubt we're looking for the same parts btw) lol

Re: Rear 4 links replacement
the front coilovers are easy man. jack the car, take the wheel off, undo the brake caliper from the back, knock the hub-center cover off (gently with a hammer), undo the spline bolt, take the rotor off, undo the 4 bolts that attach to the side of the strut tube holding the shields and stuff on, then...

20v silvertop headgasket?
So I know i'm not supposed to use the 16v gasket but I don't want to buy the wrong one by mistake. I don't need a full gasket kit, just the head gasket and the studs (preferably ARP studs.) If anyone knows the part numbers for the gasket and/or the head studs that would be fantastic, also what thick...

They look too baller.... especially when people do custom designs. I can't wait to finish mine lol, i'll be putting some homage to my user name and paintjob. But yea, I always thought led's > halogen, and the car company's seem to be under the same thought process
