Re: Anyone familiar with a 4AC?!?

So I re checked cam timing and ignition timing. Both are spot on. Any other ideas? Getting pretty desperate here. If not fixed by this week its gonna be outta here

Re: Anyone familiar with a 4AC?!?

Whether it was ignition timing or a bad distributor, wouldn't it be causing a multiple miss?

Anyone familiar with a 4AC?!?

Ok so long story short, A few weeks ago I picked up an 86 Corolla SR5 Automatic. Completely stock with a rebuilt engine. Drove it 3 hours home with no issues. Next day drove it a few miles here and there, drove phenomenally. Next day, it was -30 degrees here in Milwaukee. Previous owner put too much...

Re: Front spindle nut torque

Thanks guys for the quick response. I'll check that manual as soon as my internet decides to be a little quicker. I almost forgot about that because I put em together with my hand and threw them back on. Been driving like that for a little bit now. Ooops

Front spindle nut torque

So when I was pulling out my struts, I noticed the nuts on both front struts were barely hand tight. It required no tool to get em off. Is that how they're supposed to be?

Re: New name, same game

I wish I knew what it was like to truly enjoy the car. It's just been one thing after another. Put it in the air and it's a b*tch to spin the rear tires. Hopefully it's just the axle bearings and I didn't do some damage to the diff. I'll find out next weekend when I rip it apart again. I dunno why I...

Re: New name, same game

Looks great. What do you think of the GSP suspension? Unfortunately I haven't been able to test it out yet. The diff started making noise on the first drive after the install, so I drove it carefully home from a buddys house less than a mile away. Most likely this weekend I'll figure that out and g...

New name, same game

Hey all, It's been so long since I was on here last that I forgot my original user name, so I'm starting fresh. Trying to become a more active member of the forums this time around, especially now that I have some knowledge about these cars compared to last time. So I decided to re-introduce myself ...

Re: AE86 wont start

Make sure the battery is good! I just put a new motor in my car and the battery was shot, only pumping out 6v. Enough to get some fuel pressure but not enough to start it.
