Wossner forged pistons 4A-GE

I have a set of Wossner +1.0mm 4A-GE forged pistons surplus to requirements. Approx. 11.8:1 CR with stock chamber volume. These are not new but have only been run for a short time on a dyno. There is some rubbing of the moly coating but no scoring or sctratches. They are serviceable. Complete with r...

Re: Pistons - source?

Worth a look. Thanks. My local 4AGE experts think they have a set of +0.5 Wiseco's from a customer engine that have only run 500 miles (if they can find them!) that sound promising too.

Re: Crank oil seal wear groove - solutions?

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds as if turning up a mandrel that will allow me to press the seal in an extra couple of mm whilst keeping it square will the just the job.

Pistons - source?

My race 16V engine is currently based on a 90k mile donor short block from an MR2 with my head and Kent 1013 cams on it. Has run well for half a season circuit racing (7500 rev limit). However, as mentioned in my earlier post it has to come out to solve a bad rear crank oil seal leak so I'm thinking...

Crank oil seal wear groove - solutions?

Both the cranks I have for my 16V 4AGE have noticeable wear grooves where the rear crank oil seal runs resulting in a pretty bad oil leak. I'll be pulling the engine for a refresh before next race season I can see three options to solve this: 1) Metal spray the worn area and have it re-ground to cor...

Wiring for stock ignitor w. fixed timing (no ecu)?

I want to run the stock distributor (4 pole trigger) straight to the ignitor module with fixed timing as I'm not using an ECU (on carbs). Anyone know the correct wiring to do this? As suggested on Bill Sherwood's old page...

Re: Optimum safe igntion advance?

In the UK. And the Eleven is somewhat different to the Westy 7 type cars! Chassis not too dissimilar to the early live axle cars though. Still manages to be just a shade over 500gk with the 4AGE. I do have a dogcam bullet camera and once I'm happy the new drivetrain is reliable I'll aim to get some ...

Re: Optimum safe igntion advance?

Thanks for the feedback. I'll stick with 28 deg until rolling road on 5 May. Then hopefully first race of the season 7th May.

Optimum safe igntion advance?

I've built a 16V 4AGE for racing {(in my Westfeild Eleven). It's on carbs and programmable ignition. 11:1 CR, 288 deg, 8.5mm lift cam. Typically what is the max safe advance to run? Not had it on a rolling road yet but want to set it to something safe whilst I bed it in on the road. I'm guessing 28 ...
