Re: Problem with tail lights

It might have the wrong type of light bulbs. It needs to have a dual filament bulb rather than a single. Trip to your local auto parts store will fix that.

Re: Removing stubborn bushings

Take it to a machine shop, leave all of them and $30, and they will come back fine without your vice bent and socket and washers stuck in your bleeding forehead...

Just an advice if you don't have proper press and sst to push them out safely.

Re: SR5 and GTS gas tank use same mounting stuff?

Make sure you hit the bottom of the tank with a rubber mallet upside down, and rinse out the inside. Old tanks usually have tons of flaky rust inside and cleaner you have it, the less stuff that will give problems at strainers and fuel level gauges sensors.

Re: Cold start issue/oil pressure gauge stopped working

Oil pressure sending unit sensor looks like a plug with one wire attached to it with a blade connection. As for the rest of the issues, it could be a whole list of things and usually better to have a shop diagnose it rather than getting blind suggestions. It's a 30 year old car so it can be previous...

Gauging interest in a sequential spark COP control module

I'd be interested in this product. How would it look? I currently have a 20v swap using COPS, so how would this change my set up as far as wiring goes? We are hoping it will be pretty plug and play. Details are still in the making but the general idea is a small module that replaces the coil and ig...

Re: Cold start issue/oil pressure gauge stopped working

Hello fellas, I just bought my 87 corolla GTS about a month ago and i love her. I apologize in advance for the noob question(s). I've been having issues on starting it when it's cold outside, I live in Chicago so it gets pretty chilly. I looked at the ground terminal on the battery and realized it ...

Old Forum Data.

Moderators and Admins: My old backed up data between 1999-2008 is about to be decrypted by my IT guy. What I was thinking to do is merge that entire data set and posts to this forum so it can be searched and older data be found. Lots of great information is nestled in there. Re: which engine has more potential for more power?

SirDeuce is correct for the most part. 40mm is inherently weaker in sheer load capacity. But if the blueprint for the application is within the capacity and possibly using custom H beam forged rods, the 40mm will have less friction and should help to extract slightly more power and less heat... But ...

Re: Retractable headlight question

Test the voltage out of control voltage pins leading from the switch. The switch to the light control. There should be a negative switching continuity and a constant power feed. From the control, the retractor relay/motor should have continuous voltage between light on and retractor hold. Sent from ...

Re: Turbo vs NA

To those of you who have turbo'd their cars, do you guys miss anything from your car that was there when it was naturally aspirated? Maybe, like fuel efficiency or the original powerband. Crisp engine response. That's the biggest thing you'd lose from a very responsive engine like a 5valve, VVT, 4A...

The wheel weights don't matter much unless you're really chasing clocks. (and actually have the skills to be chasing clocks with consistent lap times)

Bone Stock AE86 weighs about 2350 lbs in USA trim. It can vary by year, equipment choice and body type.

New to 86's, Tire/Wheel Question(s), GTS Hatch

not that most of us have issues cutting and hammering when needed on a molested racecar base AE86 with aftermarket fenders. LOL

Re: New to 86's, Tire/Wheel Question(s), GTS Hatch

15x8 at +15 is fine. you can use long studs and have more room to play with spacers. the problem with having 15x8 at zero is it's pretty far pushed out to start, and short of cutting and hammering fenders or raising the car, it's hard to fit properly.

either way, and depends on the space you have. Pulling them together requires a tall crane or cutting radiator core support (which make future maintenance easier too)
Or you can split the transmission and remove it easier vertically.
