Brian Crower 1.8L 4age Parts

Looking to clear some garage space and figured I would post up my Brian Crower 4age parts. I got everything in a trade deal a few years ago, and they've been sitting on my shelf ever since. All parts are brand new and still in the box. Located in Lexington, Kentucky USA Prices are negotiable Here is...

Re: Fujitsubo Legalis R vs Reinhard Stainless

I have the Reinhard stainless. It is shockingly loud with testpipes. Probably too loud for 80% of people for street driving. And i haven't taken the silencers out of the tips yet.. Just to follow up with that, I actually have the OBX knock-off of the Greddy DD Trust on my coupe. I think it sounds r...

Re: Keeping it simple and stupid.

You will have to pull the engine so you can "V" notch both sides of the crack. Find a weld shop that does cast iron and has Nickelcast rod. Welding cast iron requires a very clean surface and pre-heating before welding. Do you have or are you using the engine to trans brackets that tie th...

Re: Keeping it simple and stupid.

After the tune I began driving it around town, slowly breaking the car in. I noticed the AFR values would sweep full rich to full lean, back and forth constantly, so much that you could literally feel the car bucking. This was only at partial throttle too. At idle or wide open throttle, the values w...

Re: GR Corolla

I wouldn't mind owning one, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it. If I do, it would be solely for the motor to do something stupid with!

I think it will sell like crazy once its officially released. I'm just glad Toyota is finally making cool cars again.

So ... while taking my Levin to the track is fun and all, I realized I would never feel comfortable enough to push the car/myself to the limit. Its basically a 2nd 401k at this point. Then again, its too fun to not take it to the track so I found a solution ... ... buy a 2nd one! There's only one go...

https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/ae86/ultimate-steering-rack-ae86 Has anyone purchased this setup from T3? Any pro's and con's of it? Especially just for refreshing the steering rack in the car. Thoughts? I got this steering rack installed on my Levin. I love it. The only complaint I can see some...

Do you have a build thread somewhere with all the mods you've done to your engine? It will be cool to see your dyno numbers on your build so I know what to expect with mine. Here's a brief summary of what I'm doing: - 16v with ITB's (silvertop) - Ported head by OST - Toda valve springs - Cat 244/8mm...

My 3rd ever HPDE event (Nov 6/7 2021) was a success! I went in with 2 main goals: 1) Don't spin out or go off track 2) Hopefully nothing breaks Saturday my best time was a 2.48.619, and then Sunday I was able to shave it down to a 2.43.724. I still got a lot to learn, but we're slowly getting there....

Re: Shock Dyno Data Anyone?

Hmmm.. now this is interesting. So, totta crolla might be sending me a 48511-AE881 front shock, so lets compare that to the HTS 112 front. HTS 112 front at full soft: Rebound = ~0.5 kN @ 0.3 m/s Compression = ~0.5 kN @ 0.3 m/s According to the scan that Jondee posted, the 48511-AE881 front (im assum...

Oldeskewltoy, I went back and updated the graphs to show the valve size correction (29.5->30.5), marginal difference. I also added a comparison between stock valves and oversized valves using my cams of choice. I could get some better numbers if I used wider angle cams for the oversized valves (and ...

Re: Shock Dyno Data Anyone?

Ha, very interesting to see the standard speed setting is 0.3 m/s. While our Quality/Prototype labs run shocks at various speeds, on the assembly lines we run them only at 0.3 m/s and 0.6 m/s since those are the speeds required by the customer. I'm very tempted to send you one of the TRD blues. It w...

Geez! If it were me, I would strip the car down and do as much prep work as possible, and then take it somewhere. Hopefully the prep work could save you a little on labor costs? I'm not sure how much body work/welding experience you have but that looks like a VERY big job.

I'd keep a tab on that 1.8 build. Seems 'costly' vs..... hi mileage 4AGE + T3 turbo, megasuirted, or a 4AGZE(if you can still find one/or stock rod 7AGZE) or a 1UZ/stock 240sx 5spd Either will give you that fat torque band, with no comparison in acceleration.... or noise level Lol All this time and...
