I just did a ITB sync. I went to a person which i was sure he had the device to measure it. It's pretty easy though. Just unbolt the surge tank and the stock trompets and fully close the screws. Then turn on the engine and put the balancer on the ITB's. Check which has the highest value, in my case...

the mr2 pointer is the timing tensioner bolt... just buy an MR2 one... 90109-10148 - likely under $2.00
