AE86 insurance help. Total loss situation.
Long story short, an old lady in an expedition, on the prettiest of pretty days, on a 4 lane highway with no traffic about, decided to pull out infront of me right as I was coming by. While I was able to avoid a head-on collision, she still got the passenger front pretty badly, pushing the frame a b...

Re: Short Stroke shocks on moderate lowering springs?
Yessir, did it the stupid way (installed those HTS back in 2004) simple big spacer under the strut to hold it in place. We're all young once eh? When lifting the car to do maintenance, the front hardly dropped at all. It did come down slightly but nothing dramatic. When it came to pushing on the fro...

Re: Short Stroke shocks on moderate lowering springs?
Oh, I wasn't trying to be rude about the coil over statement, it was more....typing aloud, if that makes sense. Through even deeper searching I found that thread on ae86.org where Nohachi drew out exactly what you just commented on with the spacer. So that's out. I would have one more question of yo...

Re: Short Stroke shocks on moderate lowering springs?
Ha! I must've been swimming in a mind-filled sea of coilover this, shock that, spring whatevs, that I missed the obvious. Though if you're going to go through the lengths of cutting the strut, imo, you might as well just do the coilover conversion on the front, and be done with it. Wouldn't a spacer...

Short Stroke shocks on moderate lowering springs?
Long story short, I have been doing a lot of searching on this topic, and i feel as if I'm just going in circles. Anywho, currently the ae86 is on Espelir ASD's (40mm Drop, 3kg fr / 2.8kg r) and tokico blues. Back in the day I ran the old HTS 102's w/ the TRD Japan 6/4 combo, and aside from the sudd...

Re: FS: Adjustable Rearend Link JDM
Oh, PM SENT! I have a set of SUPER RARE adjustable tension rods. Must be the same manufacturer, because you can bend these to your desired angle as well. I heard these came off NOB's old togue AE86, hence why one is adjusted wayyyyy to the right. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/RockMannX/IMAG...

Where in Tennessee are you at? These bar's interest me, and would interest me more if it was short drive to pick up, instead of paying for shipping. Would be a bit down the line though, just bought a house, sucked up all my paint funding for the 86

Re: So I told my son he can have the rolla
That's awesome! It's been a dream of mine as well that if (When) I have a son, he'll get the bloody panda when he turns 16 as well. Years of sculpting the kid to respect the car and work on it would build up to that birthday. Definitely keep that drawing for that time too, so he can hang it up in th...

Re: What things are considered a fanboy in the AE86 world
eh, just edit this since its a silly topic anyways. The concept of a fanboy is extremely subjective; that is its different things to different people. Do the usual things other 86 owners do? FANBOY! or...do stupid things F&F style? fanboy...I suppose. Just remember its your car. Do what you want...

Have you tried mounting that bumper? that picture is unmistakingly from everspringsports, they sale zenki bumpers on ebay. while mine was indeed a zenki bumper, they shipped the wrong brackets (sending kouki instead). i was able to mount the bumper, but the brackets aren't fully secured on the bumpe...

i passed emissions.....finally. Was at a loss since the engine, ignition components, spark components, and full exhaust only have 2k miles on them. Couldn't believe it kept failing.

payment sent for a lip replica. I didn't see anywhere, for some reason, with paypal to leave any extra message so, it will be for a zenki bumper. email address shares the same name as this handle.
Bout time someone made a quality OEM replica lip! Can't wait!
