build the car around however you prioritize driving habbits. Winding out a motor, on the regular, just to keep pace with a minivan in daily traffic.... is really depressing Especially in a loud obnoxious weak vessel Torque makes all the difference in the world... hence displacement and boosted varia...

I'm guessing restoration project ? Pulled my 2Tb carbs many years ago from a scrap yard, with intent on tweaking their potential. A rare part, I knew. Would definitely need to freshen. A turbo with the stock ECU? I had no idea that was even possible Lotsa entry level turbo 'kits' supplied fuel pressure regulators (FMU) to kick up pressure/richen mixture in boost Its a 'hack' that works 'ok'. Some get even better results with more elaborate regulators, usually coupled with add-on ...

Re: 4A-GE bigport rebuild questions
264 cams still seem 'mild' to me if going for torque/midrange/best street drivability..... I'd look to a stock rod 7AG, as long as there is a low budget piston option vs wasting money on any $450 forged 1.6 piston - the added displacement will make a way bigger impact than forgies Lotsa builders use...

I guess it boils down to making "trick" mods on a 'TVIS' intake - to meet the rules, and not restrict at 200hp A one-off task. Interesting to see the outcome.... and the build components also, of a 200hp 1.6L I saw a guy in Australia advertising a A40 3-speed that had been modified for dra...

when u see a $47 oem gze piston and a replacemnet DSM piston @ $90 per set !!! dyno 550+hp ...... noisy expensive forged pistons are a complete waste of money to me.... especially for a weak 100hp build these blocks wear well. Manufacturers don't usually add the extra cost and complication of trick intake components unless there is a problem to be addressed. And in due course the smallport showed that there were better ways of fixing a lack of torque. Just my guess ALOT of motors incoorporate this wizardry. It simply wor...

2 of those "restrictive" runners feed 1 cylinder. Their total cross sectional area 'appears' bigger than a single ITB do ITBs choke normally aspirated @ 200hp ? 4 of those TVIS runners, total cross sectional area 'looks' bigger than the throttle body. 8 = definitely far bigger area So what...

seeing as you're gonna have to revert back to the oem manifold anyway...... just try it out
Can't see a TVIS intake choking anything at 200hp. Oldskewl dyno'd 145hp at the tires, with butterflies in, and mild cams
I'd imagine you're removing flaps because RPMs always above 4000, for your application

LoTek for example catered to this market for a few applications.
We AE86 just go with shorter appl cartridges/mod housing + shorter rear shocks
stock length cartridges kill travel and die even quicker with more aggressive spring rates

I'd keep a tab on that 1.8 build. Seems 'costly' vs.....
hi mileage 4AGE + T3 turbo, megasuirted, or a 4AGZE(if you can still find one/or stock rod 7AGZE)
or a 1UZ/stock 240sx 5spd
Either will give you that fat torque band, with no comparison in acceleration.... or noise level
