Re: ogiptech bellhousings
I have seen these floating around on the internet. My buddy has one and it seems to have worked fine for him. Assassin10000 pointed out an interesting point on these bellhousings a long time ago. They dont have any ribs for support, so they might be weak.

Re: A stupid question about Clutches
I have had this happen to me before as well. It was another person's fault too hah. We ended up getting it out with a "ez out kit". You can get them at any general auto parts store. You just have to have an electric drill to do it. This got the bolt out pretty easy as well.

Re: Suspension upgrades that are a must.
Do not buy NRCA's only buy RCA's. NRCA's create a space between the bottom of the spindle and the ball joint ( i believe). This extra space causes the car to have unpredictable handling in some cases.... such as bumpsteer. There was a whole document on this in one of the magazines. But yeah, stay wi...

Re: Suspension upgrades that are a must.
This subject is purely subjective. If you are starting to race the car for the first time, then you should be starting out with the stock suspension with all the parts in good shape. This will ideally teach you everything about how the car tends to handle. It will also teach you what suspension upgr...

Re: Club I need help ASAP!
You either have the wrong spindle/strut setup or you making a simple orientation mistake(most likely this one). Make sure you have the correct spindle on the correct side of the car and for reference the calipers on the front spindles mount on the side closest to the front bumper. By looking at this...

Re: Megan coils help.
I would jack up the car with the rear drooping a bit. Then I would undo the bottom bolts of each strut. Then try tightening the top nut of each strut. I think you just gotta finangle with it and it probably is just in a pickle haha. Also- on my car there are 2 nuts at the top of the strut. One is to...

Re: 16v high comp (red top) conversion questions
I would not suggest going to a 272 camshaft if your car is for street purposes and it is stock. A 272 camshaft requires more compression to have a nice idle. Then there are other factors too such as the ecu. 264 May have a small idle issue but 256 will work fine.

Re: How to remove USDM front and rear bumpers
Start with the rear bumper. Here is how to locate the bolts: 1. Open your Hatch/Trunk 2. Remove the carpet 3. There are 4 black plastic caps covering 4 holes - Remove these 4. These are the 4 bolts to remove the bumper Before undoing these bolts. Make sure you undo all the bumper bolts on the outsid...

Never tried it before. You can always just try it out because the 4AGE is a non-interference engine. So you dont really have to worry about breaking anything.

Re: hellp!!! pls ae85 gts( PROBLEMS)
Give us a detailed description of what is going on when you start and drive the car. The more symptoms and the more detailed information we have, the better we can diagnose the problems. With that said I would start off with the following: 1. Check for spark to all four cylinders 2. Compression Test...

ga_goosh hit it on the nose. However, swapping in largeport camshafts will give you a better top end where as if you kept the smallport camshafts, it would give you more mid range power. Pick whatever one fits you.

Re: Oil everywhere
This is something that would take a little bit of knowledge. You have to basically take everything apart and remember how to put it all back together. Then you have to worry about setting up the camshafts and setting the timing on the engine. Its not hard at all and you could do all of it in a weeke...

Re: looking for the sr5 to gts swap write up with pics...
Literally, the best way to do an SR5 to GTS swap is to have both cars on jack stands waiting to be torn apart. You will take everything off of the SR5 and throw it away (except the interior). Then you will unbolt everything from the GTS and throw it on the SR5. I would first start off by removing th...

Re: Oil everywhere
Check to see if the oil is coming from the front, side, or back of the engine. Same with the coolant. This will give you a general idea. If you have the mechanical ability and $100 to spend, you could just do a standard seal replacement. Seals to replace: 1. Camshaft seals 2. Valve Cover 3. Valve co...

Re: front brake noise
I would start buy rebuilding/buying new calipers. These cars are almost 30 years old now and just about everything on them needs to be replaced. Normally if your having groaning issues and have replaced the rotors and pads, then its a caliper issue. The piston inside is not moving correctly or calip...

A manual SR5 transmission will have two electrical connections. It will have a connector at the top of the transmission for the reverse lights and a connector on the top of the clutch pedal. This connector makes sure you have the clutch pedal depressed when you start the car. Your automatic SR5 shou...

Re: AE86 20V Turbo Setup
Im pretty sure you could use the AFM setup. You will probably have to wire it a certain way to be compatable. Your AFM meter needs to be in the correct range of maximum air being pulled in by the engine. If your AFM flap is open all the way and your not at your redline, that means you need a differe...

Check your actual headlight switch. Pull it out and resolder it or replace it with a newer working one. Thats most likely the issue. They often go bad in these cars.

There is nothing wrong with painting your car initial d style. It is the coolest looking one. All the old school hotversion AE86's were either white or panda style. So if your going to do it, just make sure its done right. Theres no fanboy in that. The fanboy comes when you buy the car and you go dr...
