Re: oil leakage through oil cap even with new oem cap
I have a 4age 20V which is leaking oil past the oil cap. I replaced the cap with an oem cap assy (with gasket) but still it leaks a bit. Is this a common problem? And how can i solve this? As the cap uses a gasket, unless there is damage to the sealing surfaces, you should not get any leakage. Howe...

Re: Rough idle after idling for a while and hesitating somet
Hi, i opened up the radiator cap and let it run for about 15 minutes, but there's absoluely no air in it. The car smelles like crazy when someone drives behind me. I'm really out of ideas and it's getting really annoying to have a fresh rebuilt engine that won't run properly. I'm suspecting the fuel...

Re: BT 20V swat complete but weak?
i will be running 120mm stacks, planning on buying those T3 air filters, but im looking for alternatives. That should be a good length for torque! I'd also say measure the resistance of the oil control valve and do a complete checkup of the distributor cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, etc. Plug wires...

There are about 3 topics over the IAT here on club4ag in the past week.
You can use almost any IAT used on the Toyota from 1990-2000 or so. Just check over here which one you can use: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/xref?v=E_1 ... 2010&mU=on

It's litteraly used in 30 or more models, so there should be one near you for sure. Every breaker that has a japan car should have one.

Rough idle after idling for a while and hesitating sometimes
Hi, My 4age 20V Blacktop has a little problem. After i let it idle for a minute or so it's starting to idle pretty rough. Also sometimes on accelerating it's hesitating, especially in lower rpm, in high rpm i don't have a problem at all. It's not always there, but sometimes when i accelerate in 1st ...

Stacks could kill torque a lot, depending also on the lenght of the stacks.

Re: Silvertop timing mark wandering at idle and hesitation
the ST & BT TPS's are different but the ST works just fine with the BT, save your money for something else. the BT is just missing the IDL wire, iirc its taken care of with the MAP sensor or something like that. as for timing, in diagnostic mode, it should be around 16 degrees BTDC, 10 when not...

And a 9700 RPM limit? For what specs was it designed for? Doesn't seem to be suitable for a bone stock 20V?!

I'm running AE101 block w. my 16v small port head (NA setup) . It's non interference. I have no idea what my compression rate is though. Blacktop blocks on the other hand, turn it into an interference motor when mated w. 16v. Aka if your belt snaps= dented valves. Blacktop is always an interference...

I wouldn't use a sc12 for trackdays either. Turbo is indeed 'easy' and the stock engine can handle a lot of power.

Couldn't it be the iscv? I have also problems like that and i'm suspecting the iscv. I didn't try to disconnect the vvt sensor yet.
