Re: Headers for a daily driver AE86?
I'm just running a cheapy OBX copy of the TRD copy. I got it for $100 and thought "why not?". The fitment is horrible. If you have stock powersteering, the steering ujoint will hit the header rendering it impossible to turn your wheels. The downpipe just barely* clears the footwell/firewal...

Depends on how you paid. If it's from your credit line, then you can always file a reversal with your bank. You can also file a complaint on FTC's website. You can also contact the district attorney that is located at their registered state of business (may or may not be in the same state their phys...

At times like this.. I'm glad the 4AGE is not an interference motor. If I skipped more than 2 teeth on my STI.. its "bye-bye" valves to say the least.

Re: DIY:HKS Sport Exhaust (or any painted muffler) Refresh!
UUhm.. regarding primer prep/wetsanding. I've work in the auto refinishing industry and I can say (from experience as well) 400 grit might be too rough on primers even if using it as a wetsanding application. I usually wetsand with 600/800 grit (depending on the type of top coat). Then again, I'm ta...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I'm pretty confident that SW20 are meant for the fronts. T3 use to (or still does) sell front coilover setups using SW20 AGX shocks.

SW20 are for the fronts. I believe old school Camaro's are for the rear. This is for the KYB AGX applications using factory/aftermarket lowering springs. Not sure if they are the same for coilover applications.

F/S - AE86 Brake Proportioning Valve
I have a fully rebuilt Brake Proportioning Valve for an AE86 (might fit SR5s as well). All seals/o-rings have been replaced with EPDM (brake fluid compatible) seals. Everything was disassembled, soaked in a rust bath, cleaned and put back together. Sprayed it with VHT black spray paint for brake app...

Re: Where to find non-eBay flywheel?
Are you going towards the aftermarket performance or aftermarket replacement? There are a bunch of aftermarket OEM-spec replacement flywheels for the 4AGE. And there are a bunch of aftermarket performance (aka lightweight) flywheels. I kept my stock flywheel, had it resurfaced and then slapped it ba...

Re: Zenki vs Kouki GT-S gauge cluster question
I think the only difference between Zenki and Cookie clusters are the lettering/font. The layout/location is the same as far as where the gauges go. Also, the other significant difference is that Cookie clusters have a gray stripe pattern on the cluster face. All wiring/plug locations are the same.

Re: Manual Rack Conversion Inner Tie Rod Q&A
Is there a difference between using megan inner tie rods for a manual rack that has the spacer built in and the power steering version? I've been pondering about that too as well. But in the end, I left out the AW11 spacer because if I were to put it on with the P/S inner tie rod, I would no longer...

Re: 4age high engine idle
BakaBaka I have taken apart the IACV and cleaned it. The idle problem persists. I have basically verified that the idle problem is due to the IACV not working properly. I did the simple test of warming up the car then plugging the hole in the throttle body. After that the car would idle fine with s...

Re: Feeler: 7x6 HID/Projector Retro-fits
I'm in the process of retrofitting a few kits. I will post better pics once I'm done. I think I'm sticking with the plastic cover/lens since it's easier to work with. With glass, there are chances of it cracking when it gets disassembled. And believe it or not, but plastic lenses have better clarity...

Re: 4age high engine idle
Before you waste money on a replacement. Take off the idle air control valve below the throttle body. Should be a couple of screws, get some brake or carb cleaner and shoot it in every passageway you find on the IACV. I had high idling issues before due to the IACV being clogged by coolant gunk. As ...

Re: HELP! Leaking rear oil gallery plug
The only place I know of that would leak oil from the rear of shortblock is either the rear main seal (which is the common culprit most of the time) and the rear oil retainer (the aluminum piece that has 6 bolts and also where the rear main seal goes into). As far as I know, there are no oil plugs o...

Use the ae86 lock ring, and make sure to stake it to the tie rod once it's installed.
Thanks Deuce and everyone above as well for their advice. I'll go ahead and use the lock ring then.
