So are you saying that the water pump you purchased from torparts, doesn't got a coupler behind the pump... instead it's flat and have two studs on back of the water pump? that doesn't seem right... You got it right. The top outlet (the one with the built in thermostat), the upper radiator hose will go to that. Then the lower radiator hose will go right into 20V water pump. This is without heater. I did the same thing with Sam Q kit.

Just as long as your 86 is a Zenki with Zenki axels then you will not have any problem fitting your axle this this diff.
