Re: Education and Car tuning, yeah a boring subject.
The title Engineer has come a long way, and is very widely used in different environments these days. It can be very hard to define what an engineer is since the environments and scenarios differ from one workplace to another. As a Systems Engineer, I generate requirements, test requirements, build ...

Even mechanical engineers who only focus on their area of expertise. My degrees are in electronics engineering and robotics, but I am a nasa systems engineer, but I've ...

There are plenty of people who can afford to heavily mod cars, but do not. And there are plenty of people who can not afford to mod cars, but do. That's totally dependent on the offset of the wheels.

Thats just business practice when it comes to high volume product to the masses. Microsoft is discontinuing support for Windows XP this month, Apps are no longer made for the iPhone 1, etc... I think most car manufacturers follow this model as well. They can not produce parts for their old line up w...

I bet Mitsu's Garage in San Gabriel would be cheaper if youre willing to drive this way. But im sure there are others around you that are reputable as well, I just dont know of them. Going to technosquare for your rear end is like taking your car to Bluemoon for an oil change. It might be a bit over...

I believe they do a lot of mechanical work as well, but most of it is race or performance related work. While they may do work that you need, im sure it would come at a higher cost than normal. It doesnt hurt to shop around. Where are you located?

Re: techno square
I thought they mainly did tuning for ecu's. I had them work on a Stealth ECU for my supra long ago.
What are you looking to get done?
They arent cheap but are not overly pricey either. All depends on what you are doing.

Its Obama's new bill "Crash for Clunkers" where the Gov pays old ladies in Gov cheese and free bingo tickets to smash anything pre OBDII.
Kidding aside, I dont know how you can dispute the adjuster unless he/she was a car person. They really do go by the books when handling claims.

More money doesn't always equal quality. ADV.1 is a perfect example. They cost 8k and everyone sees pics of them on super cars, yet they are total junk.

Is the car a daily driver? Or just a weekend driver? I have a Seibon Hood and Hatch, and neither are using secondary latching systems. Just the secured latches they came with. Car gets driven spiritedly on freeways and roads, but only on weekends when its warm, so I dont know if thats a good gauge a...

Re: Question for the CA guys
If you drive a swapped car on weekends and such and have a good daily driver, it really isnt a big issue unless you get stopped and cited. But if it is your daily that you are referring to, I would stop that right away in CA. I would not risk daily driving a swapped car... just increased your odds o...

Its a good combo.... a bit difficult to manage with a manual rack on harsh entryways as the little wheel wants to fight pretty hard against you. And if you dont have a good grip, will try and chop your fingers off.

I had that nardi/TRD on my Supra and loved it. Mine was not the TRD one, but the same wheel with the nardi center. I think it was a Nardi Torino. Felt great and was not a huge departure from the OEM wheel which I wanted. Hard to find them in good condition these days. Anyhow, my Personal Grinta: htt...

Good choice, and their value has been increasing in the recent years. I considered getting an early NSX, but just never truly decided if I wanted that car. But I wish I had when it was on my mind. They were more plentiful and cheaper.
