You would need to swap the speedo gear. SQ engineering has several options available
https://www.sq-engineering.com/product/ ... edo-drive/
Also, wheel size also affects the speedometer if you want to experiment with different sizes.

Re: Any one good with oem radios?
Yeah you should be hearing static of some sort. Turn the volume all the way up and see if you can hear some static. If not, something is wrong with the speaker wiring.

Re: Any one good with oem radios?
Grab a volt meter and start testing the pinouts. Basically most important is ground and power, then you can trial and error for the speaker positions. Or, you can do what I did and get one of these... https://www.carid.com/metra/factory-replacement-wiring-harness-with-oem-radio-plug-mpn-71-1398.html...

Fee increases that started at the beginning of last year. I got hit with a lot because that was my first registration of the car from being brand new. It should be less this year though.

2017 Toyota 86, 860 edition. Got it specifically for a daily driver cause the AE86 brings too much attention. It's reliable so far, I just wanted something that is fun to drive and not have to worry about for a while. Being the so-called predecessor of the AE86 is an added bonus as well. Only downsi...

After searching the interwebs it looks like your best bet is to find someone selling the tensioner from a 4age that didn't have A/C. Also, you can try to modify the current tensioner to work without the ac compressor hooked up.

Re: Alternator Preference
On my old 4AGZE I ran the Duralast one for an AE86. Had to go through about 3 of them before I found one that worked longer than a month though. They do have a lifetime warranty which is a plus, just takes time to find a good one unless you're lucky.

Re: AE86 Beams Swap
I am running the same harness. You have to run a wire from the battery positive to the starter and there are two labeled points on the harness near the starter that you have to ground and wire to a positive. For me, I wired the positive to the same place as the battery to the starter and the ground ...

Re: New Annex Coilovers or...Old faithful TRD Blues etc..
Currently I am running the KYB/AGX short throw struts on the T3 weld on kit with 7k front eibachs and 5.1k rear swifts. It works fine for a daily or on the track. I'd have to agree with previous post as to stay away from the TRD ones. I would like to try Tokico HTS's next cause they are supposed to ...

AE86 Dash Vents
Anyone know of a easy replacement for the dash vents? Something that has similar dimensions and can be easily sourced? Otherwise I'm thinking of just blocking off the holes altogether. Anyone have any good ideas?

Re: Speeduino? Arduino powered ECU?
Yea the old megasquirt used the distributor signals so i couldnt understand why it wouldnt work with the speeduino. I have a buddy who is interested in trying to build one of these with a blacktop 20v. I will probably help him out with it and post my findings here.

Re: Speeduino? Arduino powered ECU?
You have a couple of options to get that square wave signal. Easiest would be to go to the junkyard and pick a crank sensor off a 90s ford equipped with EDIS. Then you would need a trigger wheel, i used the one from T3 cause it bolts right on to their crank pulley. Make sure you use shielded wiring ...

Re: FX-16 gear ratio/manual trans
swap the final drive gear for something smaller. I don't know what final drive gear size they had but on the AE86 it has a 4.3 stock. You can go with something around 4.1 or even smaller. You will sacrifice torque by doing this though.

I think it would be fun just to build one of these just for the experience. If you can build a megasquirt you can definitely do this.

try spraying something into the intake to see if it will start even just for a second. I don't know these engines at all but that will at least tell you whether or not it is fuel related and you can work from there. I know some engines are finicky about MAF sensors and o2 sensors. How is your situat...

Don't know if the fight club still meets every 3rd Friday at Cafe 86 anymore since I haven't been in years. We can organize a casual...
