Re: 500+ hp on stock bluetop cams?
Yep..... camshafts' job is to increase VE after all didn't think a 55mm compressor could even move that amount of air @26psi but that is only intake manifold gauge presure. Must be a really efficient combo.... & a monster! Is that Ben's AW11 that used to be on uniqueautosports web page years ago...

Re: 500+ hp on stock bluetop cams?
over the top builds gonna be breakin stuff. Diehards suck it up... others will swap to a different powertrain if hi rpms split main caps, set your 'beast mode' @ 7500 rpm upper via turbo size & cams if a bigaz 61mm compressor, psi in the 30s... lifts the head, needing bigger ARP stud$$$.... Stay...

Re: 500+ hp on stock bluetop cams?
think just over 500hp was ~30ish psi boost, GT35R. Solid 435 ft-lbs tq too. E85 the 40-45psi boost was for yet another built 7AGTE with aftermarket cams, and big ARP studs as this head lifted ~550hp the crank main bearing cap split, so tomei ladders were to be added. Some advised to get a girdle ins...

Re: 500+ hp on stock bluetop cams?
Rollachriz did mention the stock intake holding back ~400hp.... as other hi strung 4/7AGTEs have found could it be old tired oem valve springs causing power to hit a brick wall, while 'stock' cams get the blame ? all the additional pressure on the back of the valve, might have a huge affect ? the DS...

Re: 500+ hp on stock bluetop cams?
making 200+hp more than any other stock cam 16V 4/7AG, is off the grid Stock cam bp, ca, sr, 4g, 3sg don't put up those sorts numbers. Why would anyone bother motor swapping Every hi powered 4/7AGE all ran cams 16V or blacktop 20V head/stock cam. This 16v even surpasses all 20V/stock cam now here is...

Re: 500+ hp on stock bluetop cams?
this one is more typical of numerous stock cam 4agte builds; http://www.sdsefi.com/features/aug03corolla.htm 315 hp with a T4 compressor @24-25psi. At 28psi only saw 321hp.... boost just builds up in the intake tract. if the stock cam 16V head restricts a 1600cc like that, wouldn't it be worse on 18...

500+ hp on stock bluetop cams?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcGTYwzxQp0 countless 4AGE, BP, CA18, SR20, 4G63 stock cam dynos always shown the 4AGE way behind on power Most stock cam 4AGE turbos seem to hit a wall just past ~320ish, from my observatoins Why did so many powerful 4agte builds -waste- money on cams ? what is so sp...

some 'quality looking' stuff right there
Personally I'd look for results before diving in
performance-to-dollar ratio usualy very low on small displacement normally aspirated street setups

read a few testimonials of definite gains from increasing piping diameter around the stock sc12
the vast majority never bothered to. It's the little details, eh....
Would b interesting to c ur final results. Good job (as usual)

Re: Cris' Levin SR
wierd... I used the 5AFE ecu/harness/sensors on my u.s. 4AFE as well. No issues.
I used an $11 4AFE head gasket on my imported 5AFE years back. Worked fine
4AFE(1.6L) and the 5AFE(1.5L) externally, look identical to me. Later 5AFE have a different looking intake tho

saw this on another forum way back. Unusual rwd rolla swap. This car looks to be in good hands so the 4AF bolts up to the 4AC flywheel, clutch & 5sp ? Using the 4AF starter under the intake manifold ? Throttle body relocated to other end of intake plenum I suppose that big firewall cutout is to ...

Re: Rear brake caliper won't release....rearend upsizing lead to this? (Sorry long)
master cyl vs caliper volume, pedal travel, etc., may all affect bias
Before buying any parts, I'd get familiar with the braking needs
will u b upgrading the fronts in the future ?
A simple fr pad compound change can alter the dynamics

Re: Rear brake caliper won't release....rearend upsizing lead to this? (Sorry long)
so you've isolated the problem down to the seal or whatever retracts the piston.
Maybe the parking brake mechanism interferring with that ?
could u first take the caliper apart to see what's up ? ....since u may be using it as a core later anyway

Good for u!
seen folks import those back in the islands ~10-12 years ago. Would rarely pull $12-1500
Clean Evo IIIs and S13s/ca18 or sr20 were very popular..... in the $1800 - 2500 range
Lower availability probably sent the prices back upwards ?

so you're injecting, but no intercooler ?
A starion member runs his turbo LS swapped drifter like that
One AE86 owner ran injection on his TRD supercharged(non-intercooled) RZ swap.... made a night and day difference

why the heavier W58 ? 4AC probably wont make enough torque to stress a t50. where will u find an injected 4A ? A week ago i stumbled on a picture of a 4A-E on the web. Never seen one before. that's the CAM timing u checked ?
My GTS is hard as heck to start if I don't "pulse" the cold start injector (single one hi up on side of plenum). Use the same pigtail
Mine fires right up after that. iirc the COR pulses it automatically on startup. Just not got to sorting my own yet

if plugs not wet.... injectors 'sitting' unused for a long time may stick. Common prob i always keep a spare pigtail handy to energize the injector (tap accross battery terminals, direct 12v) u should hear a solid click.
