Re: Celica Supras?

Id like to see someone throw on a set of the updated MKII Supra wheels on an ae86 (but they only come in 17 & 18 in sizes): http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Boyd-Coddington-Custom-Toyota-Celica-Supra-P-Type-17-Wheel-640x360.jpg http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/...

Re: Looking for digital gauge cluster

If you can find tech specs or schematics of the inputs and outputs of the digital units, you can determine what will work and what wont. Post your results as im sure a lot of members would love to do the same.

Re: Looking for digital gauge cluster

I dont know how they all work. I have looked into the Haltech IQ3 since I have a Haltech ECU already, and it would be plug and play (once configured). But as far as using a strictly digital dash for all your needs would probably require senders from an A-to-D box to feed the display the correct sign...

Re: Looking for digital gauge cluster

Well, that could take care of the tach signal, although I think you would still need a breakout box to get the digi dash exactly what it needs voltage wise. Sounds like, in order to get full use out of a digi dash, you would need a digital signal box for every function. Could get pricey.

Re: Looking for digital gauge cluster

What are you using as a controller for all the functions of the digital dash? If you have a standalone ECU, they either will have their own dash that will plug right in and will be configurable with software to do what you want, when you want. You have to remember that there needs to be some A-to-D ...

Re: Wheel Size Help

I truly believe your best bet is to first roll your fenders. Since you are getting painted, do it prior to paint. You will get better clearance. Once that is done, you are able to measure and determine what you have to work with, and give you a better feel for what you need to get as far as wheel si...

Re: Wheel Size Help

If you are selecting sizes with performance/grip/track/street in mine, why are you thinking of using 7 inch rears and 6 inch fronts and hope that a BBK will clear? I would at least look into 8 inch fronts and 9 inch rears with a wider track and good tires. A lot of factors are needed to make your de...

This is the filter i have. I can't remember if I have a filter for a Ford Cortina or BMW 2002, whichever is spaced right for my carbs. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=390535007721 Could you drill out new holes to the plate to mount the filter element securely? Re: What did you do to your car today?

These are just the simple foam covers that have 2 (smaller) holes per filter that you spread open and slide over the (in my case) ITB trumpets. The holes are small so you open them up with your fingers and slip on. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c135/sidekickchuck/4EF109FB-D000-4841-9172-8D2F37F6...

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Ramair uk eBay auction. Took a week to get to ca. Not bad.
They replaced the red uni filters. But I prefer the Ramair filters strictly for aesthetic reasons. The Uni filters probably filter more particles as a whole since they have multiple layers and oil.

Re: 225 tires on an AE86

I am about to throw on some 225/45-16 on my ae86. I have 16x9+0 fronts and 16x10+0 with 20mm spacers all around, so the current 205/45 and 225/40 are too stretched IMO. I hope I like how the 225/45 tires sit and feel over the current configuration. In the OPs case, with a 7 inch wheel, I would think...

Re: RAFFLE! This AE86 Sprinter Trueno from JAPAN

Question about the NonOP status: What happens when you sell, or in this case give away a vehicle that is currently NonOP? Does the seller/buyer have to perform smog or anything else to transfer ownership? Just trying to figure out how the winner will register the car from its current state. If the ...

Re: FC brakes?

Have you prices out everything you need for the FC converstion? Calipers, pads, lines, brackets etc? The Willwood T3 Kit is $900, so to me while it is more expensive, they are new and work great and finish off the look. But if cost is a very high factor, then you can save a few hundred and go with t...

I loved my Recaros I had in my supra. Good support laterally during turns, just not quite as good as a racing seat like Bride or recaro racing etc... If you want to use a harness with OEM type seats, I would just make sure that they pass through straight and correct to prevent bodily harm. Obviously...

Re: Hatch & gas door release lever handles?

Okay thanks again for the clarification. I may see if there are other lever handles that I could potentially adapt to fit onto the levers. Would finish it up nice. I am the only driver for my car, so its not that I need it to figure out which is which, but to round out the completeness of the cabin.

Re: Hatch & gas door release lever handles?

So it doesnt sound like anything I could even pull off a parts car and put on mine unless I remove the entire assembly?
Might have to come up with some alternate solution and make something myself.
