Re: "Kentucky AE86: A Levin Story"

There's certainly good and bad to being here hahaha But it's absolutely worth a few days to come visit the Toyota Heritage Garage. I'm here for at least another 18 months or so, mostly because of my apartment contract haha. But I do try to come back once or twice a year. If you don't yet, you shoul...

That is a gorgeous Levin, man; great find! I'm living in Tokyo at the moment and there's one near my apt I see 2 or 3 times a month that looks almost exactly like yours...pretty jealous ;) Anyway, always awesome to see another addition to the KY community...mine's been off the road since 2012, so t...

So ... Tried to get it aligned this past weekend and turns out my inner tie rods are worn and need to be replaced. Unfortunately it took 3 different trips to 2 different shops for this to be confirmed. Whats even more unfortunate is I am no longer bringing my vehicles to my own workplace and letting...

Re: "Kentucky AE86: A Levin Story"

I might have to pick your brain about the JDM automatic climate control. I bought one because I like the gauge face better, but I doubt the USDM Corollas come from the factory with the plugs for this... I'll be working on the 86 this weekend so I'll try and snap some pics while I'm at it. Just had ...

I think you work at the dealer, right? Just go through the AW11 (1st gen MR2) steering rack parts diagram. Also asassin1000's write up really helped. Lots of digging on the internetz... Honestly, most of the parts should be fine. There are 2 radial bearings that don't normally go bad, a spring, a r...

I saw those on their website! haha I almost bought them but was unsure on how much lower I could go in the rear. Thats when I saw the Fortune Autos for sale on their website and later found that review from a few years ago. Also another thing I should add, I'm kind of weird when it comes to organiza...

How did you go about rebuilding the rack? Did you source all new OEM stuff or just a ton of digging?

Nice write up! Is their any way you can take a pic of the rear bump stop area you mentioned? I am now leaning toward these. Installed my coilovers this past weekend. and remember my previous post about how I decided to buy all new Pads, Rotors, Wheel bearings, etc.? I spent about 250$ for all of that stuff ... and I didn't use ANY of it Lol. When changing the suspension, noticed the pads were pretty much brand new, took ...

Fortune Auto Coilovers Review 2017

I did some extensive searching and was only able to find one review of the Fortune Auto 500 Series coilovers for the AE86, which was a few years old. I know these are popular in the s-chassis drift crowd, and I have a good buddy with these on his IS300 and they felt really good, so I decided to take...

I think that 3C7 was one of the colors offered overseas because its not showing up on the database here at work, but its found on the internet. And it doesn't seem to be offered in a two-tone scheme either.

Re: "Kentucky AE86: A Levin Story"

Holy Jesus lol. If anyone tries to tell you they can get an OG white 86 from Japan in as good condition as yours under 10k they are lying. These cars are very hard to buy. Skylines, FD Rx-7, and many other popular chassis are 10x easier to source. Being an importer I'm sure you know this. So, even ...

Sooooooooo... How much is too much? :D LOL. I paid 13.5k for the car + shipping. I have about 20k in it thus far, but thats a grand total of everything from insurance (premium insurance through Hagerty), car parts, to the cost of gas and a trailer to pick it up. No loans or anything either, this is...

It was not that tan of a color, in fact it's mostly silver. I just heard people refer to it as champagne so that's what i'm doing. I did a quick little search and this is what I came up with. I work in the parts department at a Toyota dealership, so I used the list provided from our little website / database and cross referenced it with the internet (List from our database) https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4245/34319222694_c2caa36...

Been toying around with the idea of going with coilovers, since I already have everything torn down. I was looking at T3's weld on option, since it would make for a good DIY option. These coils look great, i'll be curious to hear your thoughts on them after the install. Keep it up! No joke, I spent...

The Fortune Auto coilovers FINALLY came in last Thursday. Hand assembled in the USA babyyyy. People compare these to the level of Stance or BC, but the build quality is better. Wayyy better than the BCs I got on my tC. I'll do an in-depth write up on these after I get them installed. https://c1.stat...

If you're looking to import one yourself just contact a legitimate importing company. they will do the dirty work for you.
