Re: Looking for AE86 Advise (Buying, Technical, Local Clubs)
If you're spending up to 13k on the car initially, I'd imagine it would be in very nice shape already. Not sure if a lot of the typical issues would apply since they would have likely already been addressed. But one thing I am dealing with right now is the drive train, everything from the transmissi...

Re: Warning that the Exedy clutch for the AE86 isn't right
Thanks for the info, I am starting to hear some TOB noise and clutch engagement feels a bit rough. I'm thinking its time for a clutch kit!

Here's the local one I've been kicking myself for not having the money for: https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/5387887438.html Sucks when you see an 86 so much nicer than yours for sale, and they are asking pretty much what you have invested in your ongoing project. Prices are all over for thes...

Hey Haru! Well every time I drive by there it looks pretty dead, but I usually only drive by on the weekends. Pretty funny in the Google maps pic you showed above, red hatch with hood popped lol. I will have to go by there for a quick picture now that my hatch is back on the road. Hope all is well o...

I always loved that Apexi setup, so clean and simple. IDK why I didn't remember that when I was messing around making my intake. doh!

Ya i have a stock airbox too, I looked for an oem intake hose but got impatient quickly and just slapped this together. Those hoses are pretty hard to come by now it seems.

Re: Talking about Air Filters...
Yeah I kinda figured those flat surfaces around the square opening weren't going to help much. i suppose i could have another adapter plate machined up that funneled to a size hole that would fit the inside measurements of the AFM opening. That would look more like those transition pieces you have p...

Re: Talking about Air Filters...
Now what about the addition of a venturi to whatever filter type you may choose? My very limited understanding was that most of the gains (if any) from and aftermarket intake was due to more air velocity than volume...? I'm far from any sort of an expert on the matter, just trying to learn a little ...

My mistake, I was thinking it was supposed to attach to the ends of the tension rods like some other styles I've seen. And now looking at the bends in the cusco bar, it doesn't even look possible to attach the way i was thinking.

Try doing some research man, or take a trip down to the junk yard and grab some to try. Honestly i probably do have some of those bolts, but I highly encourage you to empower yourself and look it up so you know. cause knowlege is power.

Rear seats installed with a layer of insulation under. Makes a pretty big difference in sound, even though this insulation stuff is more meant as a heat insulator, it still had some bit of sound reduction. Last area to get to is the trunk, I still need trunk carpet and a privacy cover. I have the ma...

pulled the back seats out of storage, it will be time soon! I have most of the parts already, just need to run by the junkyard again for some more bolts. I wish the seats were done closer to original with the 2 tone cloth lower section, it'll get sticky for sure in the summer, but I'm sure not going...

Common non oem replacement part numbers
I love OEM as much as the next guy, but you know how it goes: too expensive, not available, can't get it soon enough etc. I've just been looking around for parts to rebuild my rear end, and I have seen some pretty affordable ones on Amazon. They have the rear axle bearing kits (koyo) for 62 a side s...

Thanks guys! Got a set of front seatbelt bolt covers, and an oh **** handle from the junkyard too. Bit by bit its coming together. Its not going to be even close to pristine when I'm done, but its going to feel like a real complete car again for sure. http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/vv144/luanzop...

do you have a motor in the car already? Your best bet is to get someone to give you the "hookup" if so. And by "hookup" I'm not implying you should do anything illeagal... wink wink. But to pass smog in CA you basically have to have ALL OEM emissions related items still installed...

I found one on Amazon that seems to get okay reviews at least, but its still a lot more expensive than 10$!($69.99 Prime) It would appear that the dimensions would be a good match, I measured the rear hatch section across the top and it seems to be right around the 40 inch neighborhood. http://www.a...

Anyone got a good source for these now? Seeing a few posts here saying price went up, and the link a few posts up that says its was 10 and 20 shipping, the price is now 133$ on that site! this was an awesome super cost efficient mod, but at that price not so much.

Great price for that rear! I've been ready to spend 150+ on a used R&P alone! I am hating that the stars aren't aligning for me right now, I would totally come get it. You're just a tad too far for me to trust my dad's old truck, and my wife would kill me if I stick that in our Accord. Lol. Good...

Re: Runnung 3.9 or lower final drive with stock motor?
Good lookin out OST, shot an email to their parts department. I'm just curious as to why these are compatible with the our cars? Seems like such an akward cross of application. is the 6.7 10bolt combo just really universal and super common on other rear ends? I doubt all these guys are just running ...
