Re: MtLemmon86's Corolla Resto, then 7age stuff
And although I haven't recognized anybody from my other forums on here...the gold car is still relatively top secret. Suffice it to say it has eight more cylinders than the Corolla, and at least one turbo.

MtLemmon86's Corolla Resto, then 7age stuff
So i decided to get this over with instead of just updating my non build thread when i do stuff. So I bought my Corolla October 10, 2014 from a less than stellar human being. On paper it had two owners before me and a mere 77,000 original miles! Oddly the motor had been rebuilt 30,000 miles before.....

Re: What's good about the 7age?
Yes I wil be doing this very thoroughly as its my first weird Frankenstein motor, for the sake of the OP's question I'm tempted to just toss it in in its current state to see what it puts down but as the bottom end has just under 200k miles I definitely want to rebuild it before it sees any serious ...

Re: What's good about the 7age?
Thanks for posting MtLemmon86 and pulling the thread back on topic lol. If you start a build thread you should PM me a link. No problem! I was going to do a not so stock rebuild but for the sake of this argument I might just put the 7age together with the stock head I got with it to see how it comp...

Re: What's good about the 7age?
I just bought one, getting it rebuilt this week when it's swapped in I'll post the before and after dyno. Hopefully it will simplify the decision for you, since this seems to have gotten a bit off topic. http://i59.tinypic.com/15d41go.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/2vt9njo.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/2ib...

Re: Finally found my eight six
Ya I was kinda hoping it would get moved to owners/builders when the classics topics got deleted so I wouldn't have to make a whole new thread, but I guess it would be better to do that before I get any more done to the car.

Re: turbo recommendations
Don't have the maps. He recommend that turbo so I was curious to see what everyone thinks. Really would like to run the garret GTX 2867r but the price is crazy high I ran that turbo on my MK V gti and loved it, peak torque came at 2800 rpm and it felt amazing, granted the GTI is 2.0l and 12:1 compr...

Nothing too crazy lately just a small little project inspired by one of my favorite builds, I haven't gotten around to putting any sort of speakers back in the Corolla and honestly I might not as my Bose Bluetooth speaker is more than enough for me right now. So this is what I put together to fill t...

400 dollars for a stock crank pully? jesus. I would have given you one for free. metal headgasket require 2 very good mating surfaces. The head is often times fresh, but frequently the block is still in the car, and the blocks surface isn't clean and true enough for a metal gasket... so they can leak. Metal headgaskets seal their best with 2 fresh surfaces to seal Stole the wor...
