Re: Dyno graph blacktop with 304/288 Toda cams

Thanks for that info. Will try that setting on our next dyno trip. What valve springs are you using? Do you think the factory ones are adequate for these cams? I don't have hard facts to prove this, but I understand anything larger than 272 you really want to run upgraded valve springs. Also, the f...

Re: Dyno graph blacktop with 304/288 Toda cams

We actually tried to dial in the cams using degree wheel and dial indicator guage. Our aim was to get both intake and exhaust to 102 degrees. Must confess that we hadn't done degree timing in years so I wont swear we got it right. The cams were some used ones from a previous project so we never had...

Re: Carbureting the 4AGE essentials

I was asked in another carb related thread to share the notes I took when I was looking around jotting other jet charts down. I took notes of peoples jet charts that were similar to mine from what I was able to gather going through the multiple pages on the old carb thread. 16v largeport 304/288 8.5...

32mm will do just fine on a stock motor.

I'm interested to see how your jet chart compares to mine. I've been compiling various charts from other people with varying setups and they've all been in the same general area, with a few exceptions. Please SHARE......... I'll share it in the dedicated carb thread, I don't want to de-rail this gu...

Re: Carbed 4AG results - 152 whp

Unfortunately, I haven't schedule any dyno time yet. I've primarily done my tuning by the way of street and wideband. My butt dyno tells me the cams fall off mid-late 8k RPM. I should be getting on a chassis dyno here very soon, however. My setup is a little bit more mild than yours, with 11.8:1 com...

I've run them on my VW MK3 GTI and they're great. They come out of the same build house as many other coilovers we're familiar with, like D2, K-sport, BC, etc.

Re: Carbed 4AG results - 152 whp

Please, if you don't mind.. find out from the tuner what jets you're running with your setup right now. Very curious. Also, a smaller venturi is something you don't want to do unless you're trying to create a little more torque in the lower RPM range. 36mm is about right for those 272 cams, and I'm ...

WTB: 14" wheels

Like title states, I'm looking for just about any 14" wheel that can be split and made wider with custom lips.

OR, I'm looking for something around the range of 14x8.5 or 14x9

I have 2 grand in hand I'm looking to spend, let me know what you have!

Thanks in advance! 8-)

Both of those would work just fine, and I have actually used both of those on my own cars. The expansion plug works great and is easy to remove if you decide you might want to go back to FI. The expansion plugs are alittle more more, but also solid and less worry. Pretty much up to you, which route ...
