Some time back, on the old 'board, there was a discussion about locating the front struts of an ae82. It may have been taroroot that said that turning the tophat so that it filled the rearward portion of its mount was the performance setting. How does this work? It looks as if it would change the caster and might reduce dive when braking or loading the front end. Is this right? Are there other benefits? What are the drawbacks? I know a front wheel drive labors under a lot of handling disadvantages; does this negate some of them? Thanks for any info.

That was the adjustment for the caster. The FX only has 2 settings for caster, orientating the strut center to the rear gives a stronger caster and is recommended for "performance" settings. I don't remember the # of degree difference between the front and rear settings though. On the other hand, the rear caster is adjustable at the crash bolts.
